Dial Up Internet, Whats The Cheapest?

We currently pay £14.99 for unlimited 56k dial up access.

When we signed up a few years ago, it was the best deal going. Now it's sooo expensive.

You can even get dial up for free! (http://www.internetprovider.co.uk/) (pay as you go)

So, I'm looking for a single monthly fee very cheap ISP with unlimited use.

Any recomendations?

I've seen it somewhere for £4.99!

The whole idea is to keep everything cheaper though.

However, I've just found a £19.99 Tiscali deal where you get unlimited 2mb broadband and unlimited phone calls to anywhere in the uk at any time.

Sounds pretty good, seeing as we pay around £45-50 on the phone alone, plus £14.99 for the current net!

Tiscali suck. We just got them and ended up with a piece of shit usb modem. It crashed my mac trying to install itself TWICE, just froze completely and I had to turn it off... Which has never happened before. Moral of the story: Any company that gives you USB modems is crap.

On the other hard, now it's working it's ok I guess

BT gave us one, works OK, though it had its fair share of teething issues...

The ol' Speedtouch model is it Josephine? That's what we got with ours and it properly shat the bed when we had to semi-format our old computer. Worked like a charm on the initial install on that machine and this one though...

Free 'try out' dial up Cd's ***?

My Dad used to do that with AOhell, then after a year, they wanted a bill!

But he gave them no billing info, name, address or anything.

So they couldn't do anything.
