zoo
Please for the love of god...put more effort into your posts...you could atleast use the spell checker before you click 'Add Reply'..On topic yes you can drill your own rims aslong as you don't make the holes too big,but i think it is better to buy parts than start drilling holes into your bike. hope this helps a little.zoo baby! But on to the other subject yes it does make your rims lighter having them drilled and not Necessarily weaker either (plus i think they look better aswell) Ollie Edited July 13, 2006 by S-town Ollie

zoo
Ok ill share a bit more advice...firstly don't drill over the join (opposite side to the valve) just incase you didn't know,as this will kill the rim/wheel and it does make your rims lighter but only by a few grams and you really don't notice it...drilling your own wheel is purely for aesthetics (looks) and it will probably still be heavier than a try-all or echo..i drilled my old wheel and i didn't notice the difference and to be honest it looked pretty shit..if you wanna chat just add me to msn mate (address is in my profile) Hope this helps further zoo baby! chrishayton
drill big enough holes and you can save nearly 100g per rim. bear in mind rims are 600-700 grams thats quite good but not that noticable.

Krisboats
I've had 15 NMCNew Members (you havn't had a 15 forum sections add you to msn, its not possible) today add me off this f'ing place going on about the most pefecticpathetic thing going. We all learnt by looking about. We all used a search button or an engine (yahoo google etc)There has been way too many repeated topic in less than a month on erhere.Oh and you know my spelling won't change. They day a spell checker can beat me imI'll be happy and i'll conform to it, but i beat them all. My dislexia is really bad, writing is just don;t bother like (that last bit made no sense, dyslexia or not, thats just gormlessness)Sorry about going OT but i just had to ask this. Are you actually under the vain beleif that you manage to outspell spell checkers?Bit more on topic, drilling holes in your rim was supposed to be to make the bike lighter, but i think after a while it became more of a fashion thing. I know i bought my drilled ronnies based on the fact that they look unusual compared to standard bikes. The drilling does save a bit of weight though, a drilled 36h ronnie is 769g where as an undrilled ronnie, again 36h, is 867g. Thats 98g saved which, for comparison is only 14g off a non disc echo front hub . Edited July 14, 2006 by Krisboats

$IL3NT.
ye i think that everyone has said that it wont make much difference in weight so i wont drill it loli'd probably really make a mess anyway just thought it would be lighter and the lighter it is the easier to manouver it is but i will leave it how it is.
