Wright Pads
Was on a news gropu bord of one of my hobbies and saw this. wasn;t sure if any of you lot saw the launch. I watched live off NSAS Tv all the way up was wicked. Though i'd post this up as some might be into it or intrested by the view of us back er!!!NASA have released some fantastic footage from two cameras onboard the SRBs from last week's STS-121 launch. You get to ride all the way from launch to bobbing about in the Atlantic. http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http:..._srb_camera.asxhttp://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http:..._srb_camera.asxhttp://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http:...rb_fd01h_ra.mpgThe first two clips start at T -1 minute, so there isn't much to see for a while. The view looking up is fairly dull during the ascent, but worth it for the sky turning black, then the separation and drop back to Earth. Look out for the Shuttle's column of smoke rising high above the atmosphere in the distance. The view looking down gives a great view of the Florida coastline during the ascent and the sea rushing rapidly towards you prior to splashdown. The latter is a 7 second high-res clip of separation, where the shuttle pulls away like something out of Star Wars. Awesome.
