Synergy
ok well ive sold my front disk to onza allen (mainly because i wanted something different and he was after my exact one) anyway.ive had a shot of a hope trial disk forking lurvely HOWEVER i dont quite have that much money lol.ive had a look on tarty bikes and saw formula brakes?the formula oro k18 and k24,just wondering are these better than the hope or just as good?in your opinions would it be worth saving up for the hopetrial or just buying a formula. im also open to suggestions for other breaks but not to sure on what other ones there is and how good they are eg hayes, avid etc
Mark W
The Formula discs look like they work pretty well. I think Stan Shaw and a bunch of other people have been using them for a while, anyway, and they don't seem to have any complaints...Saying that, a <insert favourite rotor size here> Avid BB7 with an Odyssey Linear Slic and something like an XTR lever is still a f**king great disc. I'm a huge fan of mine, and Tic's felt even better. They're just really tidy little units, really. I know the calipers aren't super light or anything, but you're paying a load less but still getting a shit-hot brake. Might be worth a look? PaRtZ
My 203mm BB7 on my mod can stop a raging rhino with a barge pole in its arse. FACTIf you don't want the bb7 then yeah, the formula discs work very well indeed. Will Arnold has one and its uber beasty, light and comfy to use too

Agreed mine ticks all the box i could want if for the only weakness's is- its hard stopping going down a hill without eating concrete- apparently lacks modulation - but f**k it its great.......... Pauly
hmmn just got my avid today it ended up bending my front wheel because its so bloomin powerfull i mean the spokes wernt even loose ! im jujst not used to so much power hehe. i found that mine has quite alot of mudulation but f**king loads of lock! i would sooner a bit more bite but meh irl deal with it.back to the post the mono trials arnt that bad but ith mine you only had to get water on the damn thing for it to f**k up!Pauly
