downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
Hey people, got my scooter on monday, done the CBT on monday...Me and my mate went for a few laps everywhere hehe, we werent racing... honest... and then after like 10 mins, when i was miles in front... my bike slowed down to like 25 from 58mph in like 3 seconds and wouldnt go any faster I stopped and looked at front brake, it had over heated lol the caliper had stuck on near enough fully, so i let it cool down and then it was ok.. then over heated and stuck on again after like 5 seconds....Me and my dad have tryed fixing it... but we have f**ked it haha.we tryed bleeding it and stuff, but it just doesnt seam to have any pressure in the lever and just goes straight to the grips...Iv ordered a new caliper, cause this one it raped, but wont be here till friday The brake works the tiniest bit at the min... Is there anything i could do to make it work a little bit more so i can go out and ride it to my GF's house, cause i aint fooking walking.... haha (trials bike has a puncture )
Token
cant you just use your rear brake? my old NRG's rear brake snapped an riding about for 2 weeks with only a front brake wasnt a problem, just be careful an take it easy.
Jaffacakes
Dont you have a back break? Take the front one off and use that.
Rob_P
so when the car infront slams on it's brakes you'll be prepared with a back brake only will you?No, it won't really happen! The worst things happen when you least expect it, trust me.I only use my back brake a bit in town to gradually slow down a bit, theres been many occasions where a front brake is very much needed, ie, had to slam it on.Theres also the risk of skidding. No idea how to sort the front out though, it's pretty important so take it to a garage if I was you
downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
No idea how to sort the front out though, it's pretty important so take it to a garage if I was you Took it to my local motor cross shop, who also deal with peguot scooters... they have ordered a new caliper for me which will be here on friday. My dads letting me ride it to my GF's house tonight, they are really quite road round mine + her area, so it should be too much of a problem only using a rear brake (took to right accross town in rush hour to motor cross shop without a problem...) Simpson
the ammount of engine braking you get i never bother to use brakes just back off 70m before and youll be stopped by time your there got it to a fine art now stopping at junctions no handed without touching bars lol no use the rear brake..... use your noodle you just know the limits of the bike - DONT an DONT ride it in the wet with a rear brake i once just casual used my rear in the wet an just skidded across the junction i was lucky but in this weather you should be fine - just ride defencivly for a whiledont know if id risk it though
downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
loose weight your brakes will work then xxI would be lying if i said you were sexy dont know if id risk it thoughJust saying the brake still works VERY VERY VERY slightly... like if i only use my front brake, it takes me around 15m to stop... but if i use both, it takes around 10m...But i dunno if il be usingit much, and it will over heat *** on.. again... lol
Lawnmowerman
You need to bleed it fully. Have you copperslipped the pads and made sure the weird spring clips are in right?

Lawnmowerman
Get an airline on the f**ker, pop the pistons out and give the seals etc a good clean.
Trials Punk
Check the brake lines for any bulges. They usually mean the inner line is letting fluid into the gap between outer and inner hose. Causing the brake to stick and cook.

Danny
It must be knackered because i poped the pistons out my minis calipers with an airline. I also go the pistons back in pretty trouble free with brand new seals. Just lube em up with a splash of dot4
