Egg Fried Rice
i want to put disc hubs on my wheels but how? halfords do it for £50 iant paying that much!!!you just get it built onto a rim like any other hub and £50 is way too much, you can get your wheel built roughly about £15 per rim at a local bike shop.JK
Dan6061
Do you mean front and rear? What bike is it you have?
adamtrials
You will need to buy disk hubs and probably new spokes and a new wheel build. For some decent hubs + spokes + wheel build you will be looking at around £150 if you use Hope Xc's, the cheapest decent disk hub.Even if you already have the hubs you will still need wheelbuild and spokes, which will probably be at least £50Stop being a cheapskate. tom tom
front wheel on a saracen M.A.D 2.six you will need a new hub, drop your wheel off at a bike shop or build it yourself using a wheel to copy from if its your first time, get new spokes that are the right size, and have the rim re built onto the hub, really not difficult to understand also if its a standard 2.six you may seriously want to change the rim aswell which could cost you around £150tom tom
adamtrials
Secondhand whole wheel is the way to go, but it will still be around £50 for something good.
Dan6061
Why do you want disc hubs anyway? You don't have disc forks, and by the sounds of it, don't have enough for some....
adamtrials
Why do you want disc hubs anyway? Because they make you loads better. Duh Gotta love newbies and their pointless upgrades...

ogre
What is the point of disk brakes, beyond looking ace? and maybe being a bit more power than a set of maggies (that said zoo pads and tar anyone?), and couldn;t you f**k them over if you landed a sidehop bad (compared to maggies or Vbrakes that are well away from walls etc) so why go disk instead of running maguras (probably cheaper that way to)? lardo_69
buy the hub if you want cheap look at the shinamo stuff i think you are looking at about 35 quid.I dont no just look around on lots of sites look on ebay look on the selling on the forum just dont be lazy and get others to do it. and considering you are tight on the money at the moment this would be a good time to build wheels. This is the best guild on the internet i think. http://www.gsportbmx.com/tech/tech.php . there a whole bunch of other cool stuff on there just look around. and here a spoke calculator to work out what spokes you need... http://www.wheelpro.co.uk/spokecalc/good lucki posted wronge part of web site its here... http://www.gsportbmx.com/tech/georgesguides.php
