Alun Goch
Doesn't sound like anything to worry about. How far does it stick out?Alun
ollie2000
Its on my front wheel and it sticks out about 3cm when my rear one only sticks out about 1cm
Robwalker
Might be different rim thicknesses? or get a pair of pliers around the rear valve and give it a yank it might just come up, but seriously nothing to wory about.
anzo
I dont think its anything to worry about, you might (unlikely) be running a tad under pressure, or your valve (innertube) my not be fully enligned with the hole. Just let your tyre down, pull the valve out, or hold the spokes, grab the tyre tightly and slide it to line to valve up.Really isn't anything to worry about though. Alun Goch
Yeah it's nothing, better to stick out further though, less chance of it being damaged inside.Alun
basher
chances are it wasnt all the way through when it was only 1cm and now its sticking out properly. it should stick out a bout 2cm so dont worry.
Dan6061
As long as the tube doesn't go flat again, don't worry about it.
Danny
I dont know what bike you have but if its something like an onza/koxx then chances are your front rims single wall and the rear double which would explain the difference. Either way its nothing to worry about.

Mat Smith!
Don't even talk to me about punctures, I've had more than 1 everyday this week, 6 tubes and 10 punctures. It's really really really... NOT ON!Mat
bikerbob
I'm having a bad go of it with punctures as well, The BMX is in the garage with at least four holes in the front tube and a few in the back, well I thought that I'd be able to ride round the thorns, I was wrong. Also i got a puncture on the front wheel of my Beta once and it took me about three hours to get the bloody tyre back on, but there comes a point where a four inch long bulge in the tyre is good enough and you just have to go out and ride. Punctures are part of biking. Bob
phil white
presuming you ride a mod and your rear tyre is wider than front, you may have an incorrect tube in the rear! i don't recall any of my tube valves for 2.5" tyres only pertruding by 1cm, take out the rear tube and check its a 2.3/5 as opposed to an over inflated standard tube. just a thought, i may be wrong! Mark W
The BMX is in the garage with at least four holes in the front tube and a few in the back, well I thought that I'd be able to ride round the thorns, I was wrong. Got one larger hole in the top of my rear tube, and then 7 or 8 little holes on the underside, thanks to a long nail that went straight through my tyre, only stopping when it hit my rim, which it did a few times as I cranked towards a curved wallride tonight. Made a f**king horrific noise, felt terrible, and made me almost shit my pants 'cos I had no idea what was going on Different tubes also have different valve lengths, by the way, so if it was a tube from a different manufacturer you'll probably find a difference in height. Either way, nothing to worry about. If it's all tilted over or whatever then you might wanna deflate the tyre and jiggle it round 'til it's straight again, but other than that, just ride it
brendan@medway riders
sounds fine on my bike the valves stick out at different lenghts and there is nothing wrong but if you are really worried then you can try getting a pair of pliers and pulling the valve a little to see if the valve just slides out good luck dude brendan
