Christophe'
Here it is.Found it Through a link on the heatsink site.[attachmentid=5867]http://www.hbtrials.com/drivetrain_en.htmlIm guessing the the plastic is flexi so if you land on it it doesnt break. Not sure how quiet it would be? chrishayton
ooh i like that, dont knwo how long it would last but tis a nice idea
Robwalker
ooo like that idea, but would be an idea to replace that X-Head with a nice strong bolt. Stronger and less chance of rounding off, especialy at the tourque you need to tighten that.

Endohopper
Interesting idea , Martin Kleivard used to run something similar made of a strip of carbon . Should be resistant to knocks and have pretty minimal weight , too .
dwarrick
its a local guy around here who makes them. ive seen a few being run around here, but have not tried one myself. they look like the worked really well, and yes they are preety light

Then it would be awesome. Although isn't there absolutely loads of friction there?
blinky
yeah, the plastic would need to be strong enough to push the chain down, but flexy enough to bend if it gets hit, and soft enough to stop it from being really noisy. nice idea though, i agree that you'd need to get an allen bolt on there instead of the phillips one. Danny
Surely it would make a rite racket with a kmc chain?

Dan6061
Wouldn't that tensioner, with a roller be better?
sir trial a lot
yes i bet its light and yes it looks good but does it work well? also a surley or similar tensioner cant weigh enough to have to worry about it that much surely? i know id rather have a surley than one of them even though they are neater. and as for the weight, have one less pasty at a buffet or 1 less pint down the pub etc
mods
terrible.. but they must work of they are on sale
Dan6061
Lets add an ally arm for more strength and a spring, just for fun aswell Looks simple enough...Surley a chain would just rub it through in a matter of hours...Or if the plastic becam fatigued and brittle it would just snap.. That's why I mentioned having a roller there?
ben_travis
more of a problem that i see is that the chain doesnt wrap around the cog that much. which could lead to skipping of chain on cog. especially on wider chains such as KMC. it pulls it too far away IMO.not a bad idea, but not a a good one either
