Well after they tested it out, it seems like they aint shy to use it. I personally think they'd be very silly, because every country as near as dammit would blow them away...

What do you think? Is there a threat or is it another scare like the chemical bomb attack scares?

Need to get Hans Brix on his ass...

Seriously, it is pretty worrying to think that all these countries have the power to kill each other. I think I'd be more worried about it if/when Iran or other Arab countries get nuclear weapons though. As it is, there's not much point worrying about it and there's not a lot we can do. Just get on with it and keep your fingers crossed.

Once again, a warm welcome to the stage for the Terrible Mr. Kim.....

Rich

haaha

u made me smile

Everyone shat themselves when india and pakistan were getting all nuclear and we're still here (so are they - more to the point).

It'll get a bit hairier when the Iranians have their capabilities but between the us, the forgs and the yanks there's nukes all over the bloody place so the instant anything scarier than a 747 leaves Iranian airspace there'll be a big smoking crater next to Iraq.

They might be mental over that way but they're certainly not stupid.

Yeah, Pakistan has had the "Nuke" for many years now, and god only knows how many the actually have.

The worry is that the terrorists will over throw the Pakistanian government and eventually control the "Nukes".

Matt.

Both countries stated that the test or launch of a TD-2 missile by North Korea would be in violation of the Japan-North Korea Pyongyang Declaration, an agreement between King Kong Il and Junichiro Koizumi

The problem is the leadership in Korea, no matter what they never make it better for themselves. The leader (Kim Jong-il) refused to sign any agreements on regulations regarding nuclear weapons, and they deny weapons inspections?

The exact same thing has gone on with Russia and Iraq, and both have been involved in wars with the US. As the soviet union broke up in about 1991, it seems asthough they've lost their 'scare tactic' as such, so it wouldn't suprise me in the slightest if the leader of russia was supplying these missles.

If trigger-happy America go to war with North Korea, Russia will no doubt, join in...thus creating the end of all things fluffy, colourful and nice...ah well, easy come easy go?

If we put a shit load of stealth jet packs inbetween north + south korea, we can push north korea up the arctic and forget all about them

They (George Bush) were planning to do that with Iraq, but when he finally worked out where Iraq was he decided against it

What? Everyone knows we have nuclear capabilities, that's the whole point of powerful nations like us having them. It's called "nuclear deterence". It means other nations are (/should be) less prepared to nuke us as we can do it straight back.

I know we have at least one nuclear submarine loaded up with ICBMs (can't remember the exact number but it's no "secret") and yes we do have land based missile silos which are obviously more secretive as they are more accesible than a submarine to terrorists and other threats...

My friend's grandparents live near a very secure RAF air base. Big perimiter fence, big checkpoints, the works. However you can find the whole thing on Google earth and there are *massive* hangers and what appear to be missile silos. Obviously you can only speculate but it's rumoured to be the home of our nuclear bombers...

ON TOPIC

No I'm not worried yet about North Korea. Eventually they will go too far and the US will crush them, their nuclear ballistics are clearly not an effort to further the country. It doesn't even have a full working infrastructure. Their leader's activities are very suspect and he cannot go on much longer like this without some form of action being taken by the rest of the world.

so what happened to this new hydrogen nuke bomb surly iran and korea should'nt even bother especially if the hydrogen bomb is in existance.

i'm pretty sure there are 6 submarines which have nuclear capabilities and there is always one of them in a "secret" underwater location at any one time for the uk no doubt the us will have many hidden somewhere near iran and korea.

If you're talking about the technology of hydrogen bombs if they want it then yes, they do have to bother. Surprisingly enough this stuff isn't common knowledge and not many countries are going to be willing to give it to them for any price.

The subs don't need to be anywhere near those places, as they are equipped with Inter Continental Balistic Missiles which, as the name suggests, can cross entire continents (and further) before reaching their target with GPS level accuracy (something like 10 square metres, not that it matters much with an explosive of that yield...)
