p_rew@theciderbar.na
Can anyone help me get my bike back from Japan this year?Basically, after Japan this year Ill be going travelling around Oz and New Zealand rather than coming home and so I dont really fancy taking my bike around with me!Does anyone who's going think they might be able to help me out? i know the baggage allowance for flights out there is quite huge, so you probably wouldnt exceed your allowance with the extra bag, and even if you do I can pay for it. Or on some airlines they charge an extra £10 or something for sports equipment, so it shouldnt be too difficult. If you're going and not morally opposed to having an extra bag on the way home please let me know. My folks can sort out the bike pick up back in the UK.Thanks
grantham
hey pete im going out this year again, but it will be tight to bring it back as weight limit is 20kg including bike, then its £30 per extra kilogram excess, you can't just pay for sports equipment :@
Egg Fried Rice
weight with baggages are a right pain in the bum now, since april the 1st the baggage weight limit has gone from 32kg to 20kg-22kg. PS: virgin is 23kg + virgin has great in flight entertainment lolJK Edited July 8, 2006 by J-KAY

F-Stop Junkie
If I remember correctly, both Virgin and BA have announced decreased weight limits for passengers, but it excludes sporting goods. This is how people can fly out to the US or the Alps with hulking great DH bikes and not get stung for excess baggage. Savage
Its possible to sell your bike after the event. Bikes are expensive in Japan so a used bike can be good value for locals. Chris Doney sold his when we were there together, make sure you know the exchange rate, ask one of the admin ladies to write out a sign for you.Ben.
