Guest
Hello, i am alex. Not long ago my step brother came down with a trials bike called the t-bird. Since then i have really liked having a go on it. But the problem is I don't know if i really want to get in to it. I keep on getting put of by how much some bikes are. So can you tell me some good things about it or how i can meet up in the community with other trials riders to practise or ride for fun. I live in Southampton by the way. Thank youAlex Edited July 4, 2006 by onza_rider_94
joewhite
heywhen i first started out i had the same thing. all you worry about is how much things will cost etc... but when you get into it things just click, the sport gets you fit, is fun as hell to do, and is great for socialising. I think you should as it well fun ta! joe

Oddball
Hey Alex, first, welcome to the forum  second, I say YES get it to it. Also, I would recommend a onza T-Pro there great bikes and good to start out on, and there only £420, I’ve only been in to trials for about 6 months and that’s what I’ve got. I felt just like you when I started but now I’m in to it, all I want to do is ride and get better.I hope this helps?Anf.
poopipe
I had similar thoughts when I first started. In the end I just thought sod it and bought a bike to see what'd happen. There's probably quite a few riders around your area and the sport's still small enough that people will stop and talk to you if they ride and they see you out on your bike. Have a look on ebay for a t-bird or a t-vee or something similar like a dabomb, base or mission. they're fine to start on. You ought to be able to pick one up for £100-150 notes and it'll be worth exactly the same if you decide to sell it in 3-4 months
anzo
As Oddball said, you can make what you want out of the sport. It doesn't have to cost you a bomb as long as you don't make it.You don't need the top of the range bike if your a beginner, or even expert! The t-pro is a great starter bike and is easily updated should you need to. Its a good sport to get into, I've met a hell of a lot of people through it and its aways fun.If you're after a bike though, hurry up as summer will be gone before you know it! Guest
Thank you for all your helpful comments. I decided and have just brought a onza t-vee, from a online shop. Thank you for all your help, it really helped me choose the best bike for me. Thanks again Alex
bikerbob
Well done! you made the right decision, probably a good bike to start on aswell beause you won't have to worry about too much maintainence, and with it being brand spanking new you'll be able to cruise arund on it with a huge grin on your face. Now try and get that step brother out on his aswell and have a laugh.BobEdit - Having said that you won't have to do much maintainence i just thought i'd warn you to keep an extra careful eye on the bolts for the first few weeks as they always seem to come loose all of a sudden, especially bolts holding cages onto your pedals or studs in the pedals, crank bolts might need tightening up abit too but you will notice them creaking first. Just check everything over with your allen keys when you get back in after every few rides, there's nothing more annoying than losing a bolt out and having to search for something to replace it just when you want to be out riding. adamtrials
Not long ago my step brother came down with a trials bike called the t-bird. Sounds like a nasty illness You should get into it for sure, its a lot of fun even if you dont have anyone to ride with regularly.I dont at the moment, although Bigman is going to be living next door to me for the next school year...
