Nuke Bowel
I have ridden with all 3, hope xc, pro 2 and currently a king.King wins if you ask me.Feels alot stronger IMO.They are expensive, but you get what you pay for
B.E.A.U
Was just thinking about everyone on about how good customer service is on a hope. Does it matter what its like, just because its good wont stop you from getting hurt if it skips. Sure most hubs will skip its how it is. But how many people have had to send there king back because of faults. I haven't heard of any. Hope pro 2 have been out for a short time and i've heard so many bad stories. I think its true that more you pay better you get. I am thinking of getting a hope pro 2 for my spare rim because i kill rims allot. But only because i cant afford another king because no doubt i would have another. Basically morel of the storyGET A KING Edited July 5, 2006 by Monkey_style
Ali C
I have seen many cases of the flanges snapping on king hubs and the standard axles are pretty weak. (in fact, iolo is running a FRONT king that has a snapped axle and snapped flange!)also, my hope still hasnt skipped once

adamtrials
The wonderful world of vastly contrasting opinions...If i get a new rear hub it will be a king, more ep's and less horror stories.I was told at the weekend that Porter has now broken two pro 2's and someone else has buggered one?Dunno if its true but i prefer king kuality. Having said that my mono hasnt skipped once in the nearly a yeari have had it, but i feel it is lacking ep's.

Prople say thay have been told, surely if it was true Porter would have told us? And aside that when has anyone actully said there pro2 has broken. Ive never actully heard of someone say it its just that they know someone who has, strange? Imo i would go for the pro2. Never skipped once for me, worked perfectly fine and no one i know of has actully buggerd one!
Concussion
I don't like the attitude or price from both companies and wish there was a trials specific company I would feel good about giving my cash too!Pro 2 T .........woo yeah` had to get something to ride, sigh !Slipped in first hour, then over the next week or two. Did / has got better over time! Woo! Edited July 5, 2006 by Concussion

Just whether you are willing to shell out an extra £100 to get the better hub.

ben_travis
not had a problem at all with my pro II in fact i love it to pieces, ive had a few kings with no problemo's though. there are pro's and con's with both hubs, then we get to discuss price.im talking half the price for a proII here, which is a hell of a saving. just depends on what your after, PRO II's have a super reliable feeling deep ratchet. i love mine x
Al_Fel
the best punishment for being such a tool and not knowing the kings are the best is running anything other than a king. If you are clever enough to get a king and know its the best well done to you sir. If however you are stupid enough to get anything other than a king you deserve everything thats coming to you. I think we need to know how many Kings are in existence and how many have broken, and compare that to Hopes. Until we know that then it's pretty much not worth arguing about. Just get whichever suits your budget better. If you want to save some money and still get a decent hub, get the Hope. If you want the best of the best and something extremely pimp, get the King and sod the expense

Concussion
get the King and sod the expense Yeah that's right, pay whatever they ask. No wonder people are treated like cattle by marketing-type scumbags."Hey man, these people don't care about value for money .......lets charge what we want" "Hell yeah, order me another Ferrari .......a polished chrome one this time, with green door handles and shit"No fence` Tomm ! AdamR28
Kings are better.Pro2s are cheaper. However the Pro2 is better for what I use it for (I prefer the axle design for my rear disc).
Sam Nichols
Has anybody else gone from a king to a pro2 and not noticed any difference in the responsiveness? It hasn't affected my gapping distance at all. Also I seem to have more confidence with the loud freehub [giving me the impression the engagements are better] so I've found I can ride much better [smoother etc] because of the placebo effect I'm guessing. But yeah, i love it!
