I have been thinking about which hub to get for a few weeks now. I have owned a King before and I am currently running a Hope XC. I remember the jump between the XC and King and how much I loved the hub but with the pro 2 around its a tough choice now. I am only concerned about the problems people have had with the pro 2's.

So a little poll to see what people would go for.

hey mate,

I'm in the exact same situation, i've had a hope mono for ages now, and it's not performing nearly aswel as it should. I'm more convinced into getting the pro2, as i've heard many stories of kings completely fookin up and not even engaging at all, at least with the hope you know your going to get excellent customer service, and they will service it for you for like 15 quid (Y)

Hope this helps

Ben

If you can deal with the horrible raspy click of the Pro2Ts, they seem pretty good hubs. Still though, Kings are pretty f**king amazing... If you can find one with all the trimmings on eBay or somewhere for a good price, I'd still go for that over a Pro2T.

Or, if you're Mat Hudson, you'd go for a 16t ACS Claw on a DMR Revolver hub over a Pro2T. No joke :P

king king king king king.......

Ive had 4. all have performed faultlessly, no skips, so silly buggers. nothing....... expensive but then you get what you pay for.

But the hope stuff is pretty robust, just not as 'tight' IMO

The only ones I've heard of breaking were Mat Hudson's springs and pawls dying, someone raping the bearings and taking out a few pawls or springs as well in the process, and James Porter's shitting the bed. Didn't Waynio do one too, or was that some other thing?

Ive done a search, I infact hate the search function as whatever you type in it comes back with a load of useless information. The most recent thread involving a pro 2 I found was about a month old which wasnt much help as they were pretty new still.

was just the pawls mark, cos i bent them putting them back into place. not hopes fault. i would have my pro2 but i wanted the wider rim thats onm my revolver. really nice hubs :D

*all the while we await a comfermation about the subject from trialnoir*

:D i wouldnt know to be honest as i havnt fully rode any of them, just quick turns on other bikes, but judging on the customer service on hope, go for them, if you break, your covered, and they do feel extremely solid (Y)

how anyone can consider a pro2 over a king is silly.....

how long as the pro2 been out?

how many have f**ked up?

ive ridden on about 5, and about 3 of them have skipped in the short time ive been riding them, on other peoples bikes.

sure kings do skip, if your a retart who cant set them up properly, my first king (wherever she is now!) lasted 3 1/2 years of trials service without a SINGLE skip.

end of

king all the way
