id chnage the levers get xtrs

cranks get echos

get a pro 2 rear hub

sack the tyres off get some maxxis

hope xc on ewcho rim for front wheel?

sack the chain off get a kmc kool

get a sora/105 mech

With the levers, Whats the main difference between XT and XTR? Cause XTR is significantly more expensive.

I already have the cranks.

I already have the tires laying around.

Yeah Pro 2 hub, good idea. Il probobly go with that.

Kmc kool, il check it out. I have some X-9's around but the kool might be better.

Yeah i probobly shouldnt throw an XTR rear derraileur on there. Probobly grab a 105.

Thanks for the advice!

erm arnt xt levers a bit uncomfy, xtrs jsut feel nice, but so do those kool avid levers with a tpa. which can be used either way around, what they called?

Ultimates? or might be SD7 or something like that? :S

XT are exactly the same as xtr bar a few grams and the colours. :P

They're not. They are pretty different. They both have the same shape (very nice IMO), XTRs have better bearings, which means that XTRs will probably last forever. XT levers will die after a few years (mine lasted about 4 years before the bearings pretty much died), but that's still a fair old time. The only other thing is the speed-dial thing. On the XT levers there's only 3 different positions and it's fiddly to change it, whereas on the XTRs you've got full control like on the Avid levers.

To be honest, XTRs are a bit nicer, but it's up to you as to whether it's worth paying nearly double the money.

SD7 levers are probably better value, but I never really got on with the shape, so I'm gonna recommend Shimano (Y)
