trialkid Posted July 3, 2006 Report Share Posted July 3, 2006 hey guys, iv just got a single speed kit off my mate the gusset one with 16 or 18t sprokets now im running 22/19 gearing atm and my cassete and chain ring are both pretty fecked! so i was thinking back and i seem to remember tha a 20/16 gearing would be closer to 22/19 than 22/18 is this true or am i just imaging things? This means for every turn of the cranks your wheel turns 1.157 times. The lover the revs the easier the gear. So compare that with the other ratios22/19 is 1.157 revs22/18 is 1.222 revs20/16 is 1.250 revsAs you can see above, 22/18 is closer to what you run at the moment than 20/16.
