Disc Brake

Recommended Posts

hi, iv always wondered if having a bigger rottor will acctually make a disc brake stronger?? i know that it helps cool it down quicker because there is more room for the heat to dissapait (if thats how its spelled)

dooes anyone know exactly why people say that biigger is better??

no smarmy comments now!

not really noticing any difference in my rear maggie in the wet from my front hope trial because the rims ground so if the right precausions are taken to ride in the wet with rim brakes they can be just as good if not better!

cheers ned1 thats cool id like to see the bike with the rotor the size as the wheel

discs are more powerful even though they have less leverage on the wheel than maguras for a few reasons they have a solid caliper that hadly flexes so you dont lose any power through that also the pistol ratio is 'better' meaning the slaves movr less but do it with more force then maguras dont use this ratio as the pads would move to little and the break would be impossible to set up expecialy with buckles etc. this is also why the RB F1 ergo lever is more powerfull not only does it have a longer lever blade bit it also has a smaller master piston

hope that was helpful ben
