darrenm
I cannot get my rear LX V brake set up nicely on my Pashley - is it just that the rear stays are too flexy?I've never had this problem before. Setting up a brake is a 1 minute job
bob87
i knew i wasnt the only one that had this sort of problem. i also ride a pashley. the reason the frame flexes so bad is because there are no gussets, bars, yokes or any sort of strenghthening welds neer the brake bosses. i run an old hs33 on the rear with two brake boosters and this eliminates most of the flex from the frame but not all of it. since you are running a v-brake i presume your not running a booster, if you have the brake set up perfect on both sides and it is still flexing try and find one of those horse shoe boosters that bmx riders use, these fit underneath the brake bosses and should sort out any flexing. if this still doesnt work maybe you should consider talking to one of yopur local welders and get some gussets welded around the brake bosses. hope this helps. adamtrials
Get a shimano xtr carbon v brake booster, they are amazingly stiff, weigh nothing and canbe picked up for around £15-£20 secondhand
darrenm
Thanks, I will look into an eBay brake booster...Also the frame doesn't have many mountings for thr brake cable, so my outer cable is all one-piece; will this affect things?
