Tall_Rob
was in maidstone riding the other saturday and it was baking. my legs were killing me from a recent ride in southampton and i'd just had enough. i was hot, i was tired, my legs and my hands hurt, my brake was slipping and i was so shagged i couldn't clean anything.my mate darren had been eyeing up the river all day saying he wanted to just jump in. it was so tempting. in the end he talked me in to it. we stripped of to our shorts and shoes, got on our bikes and got as much speed as we could and just pulled the biggest bunnyhop i cud. crashing in to the water was the best thing i had done all day. it was cold and refreshing and left a weird after taste in my mouth but i didn't care cos it was awesome. taking a kicker ramp next time for some proper air. maybe some backflips and 360. we're gone take a proper camcorder and get some footage and post it on next time. it's such a laugh.one word of advice, coat your frame and parts in wd40 or gt85 to help with water displacement and strip your bike down the next day and re-grease the lot. rob

Benno original
yes nice cold water sounds nice to jump in, but maidstone river has more rat crap in it the actual water, and if you want to fish in it, just run a net along the side and your get about 50 dead fish in it, and probly the odd cat or dog. bla no maidstone river jump for me thank youfolkstone sea front is better 2 jump in, me, laim and az man jump in there saturday on a hot day of riding!lushbenno

Simpson
2 questions- - does a bike float? cos i no people who usually do it inflate tubes arround the hubs to help it float- dont u get thrown into the bars when you hit the water?got a like 10" kids bike got to be done of a mini pier down here
Robwalker
Yep, they just sort of turn upside down and 'bob' around but you have to be quick to grab it. And if you lean back/manual off the pier and land in that sort of postison then the bike doesnt get in the way and just floats around you. Have fun, and get some pics!
