Welding Gussets To An Alu Frame...

I bought a rewelded Toxsin Frame1 yesterday for a pretty decent price. The guy who owned it before me had cracked across the downtube, just below the gusset, after practising hooks all day, so had it rewelded. The weld looks pretty good (altho its almost halfway across the lower half of the tube! :S ) but what I'm wondering is what peoples thoughts are on taking the frame to a welders and getting a bunch of gussets or plates welded on around the headtube, stays, bb etc. All the major stress points basically, just to beef the thing up.

Thoughts?

Cheers

Al

Thats what the problem is, once its heated and cooled its set, but re-heating the work and welding stuff on to it makes it worse, Better keep it how it is, as it will always crack again becasue its not back to 100%.

I wouldnt bother to tell the truth.

Its going to snap just down from where it has been rewelded anyway.

I don't get why people buy re welded Al frames anyway, if it was a steel frame then yes, but not Al (N)

I got it very very cheap, just wanted something to get me back into riding again.

Now that I think about it though, I'm not so sure it was the best thing to do... :(
