mod_rider
Well said Spacemunkee, how I feel but I couldn't put it into words.I bet countries like Portugal there aren't pricks who look down upon their team.
anzo
Its not football that pisses me off, its this country and its f**ked up views on it.Yea, if you like the sport, I'm not going to argue. But there are a lot of dickheads that just take it way too far. For example yesterday, during the match I rode in Derby. At the end of the match everyone came out onto the streets, swearing, shouting abuse. The police were everywhere and some idiot shouted 'Haven't you got anything f**king better to do on a Saturday afternoon you pricks?'...Whats the point? Do they think that the police WANT to be there? Its because of retards like that they have to be there.Secondly, Fighting. There were about 5 fights in Derby yesterday after the match, 2 of them I saw start off. All down to racist insults at other people...all down to football.Thirdly, There is a take away shop called Mc.Turks (if you go to derby, I HIGHLY recommend). Someone walked past the shop and shouted in 'You f**king paki bastards'.1.They're Turkish2.What the hell did they do?3.Do they think they're bothered?I'm in derby a hell of a lot and I've never seen anything like what happened yesterday. Fair enough, you can say that 'its nothing to do with football', but it wouldn't have happened otherwise.Thats the thing that puts me off football, I know I'm completely wrong in the fact that not everyone is like that...but oh well. anzo
Oh, and not to mention the whole love/hate thing in the media.Wayne Rooney, when he first signed up to England he was called Shrek and constantly bullied by the media, now the World Cup comes to light, they all kiss his arse. Its pathetic. poopipe
what anzo said 2 posts backin direct contrast.....Last night I went to the pub with julien to watch France rape Brazil - which they did a rather good job of. This being cambridge there were a fair few brazillians and frenchies in the pub all supporting their teams and making loads of noise and singing and stuff. At the end of the game, when the french had finished depositing their seed in the brazillians backsides the biggest group of brazillian fans stood up, turned around and gave the french fans a round of applause.I think we know what would have happened if they'd been english fansedit: oh - and rooney deserved that red - he kicked the guy in the gonads and then shoved someone else. it's a shame but i don't think it would have affected the result if he'd stayed on - no support = no goals (pay attention sven) Edited July 2, 2006 by poopipe

munkee
I think we know what would have happened if they'd been english fans Do we? or are you just stereotyping every english supporter because of the few that cause trouble? You could say the exact same about the polish fans or even the germans. When i watched the news they were portraying the english fans as being the ones that started the fights the other week but when i saw the pictures i saw all the german fans picking up chairs and throwing them. Not a english fan fighting back in sight. Its easy to judge on hype and i dont beleive that its half as bad as people make out.

It just seems that we've got a lot more of them than most places.

The polish are by far leading the hooliganism front, the authorities simply cant stop it there are organised fights in fields, last man standing style of fights my friend who is polish has a few dvd's with videos of it happening on. Gavyn.
I'm going to defend ronaldo here, becuase even though he was going down a little to easily he was just playing the game. If you watch 99 percent of the world cup matches strikers will leave there foot in so there is some contact and claim the free kick. why not, it's all part of the game. just because Ronaldo is good at that aspect of the game doesn't mean he's in the wrong. truth be told he could run rings round anyone on hear and most of the british players and not dive once but he chooses to dive because it makes his game better and it makes his team win. i doubt that he'll play for man u again , infact i read in the paper he was already talking about signing for real madrid and playing beckhams pisition. just enjoy football, why can't we take the brazilian approach after they lost to france most of the players swapped shirts and shook hands and the team gave a round of applause to french and brazilian supporters. that is what footballs all about and thats how england should treat it as a game that you play for fun not as a small war. just my veiw Gavyn

Whereas our mathc was just Dirty, players rushing the ref, players diving etc. you can't really say Portugal deserved to win either? yet the second they do they are ubbing all our faces in it that there SOOOOOO much better than us. So basically we were pretty much cheated out of a win, if Ronaldo hadnt of rushed the ref I doubt Rooney would have been sent off, which would have completely changed the end result, meaning we have a right to be pissed off with the portuguese? Mark W
Ronaldo says "Sorry" to Rooney...On another note, I find it funny how people are saying "England were doing really well" and shit like that. The only time they played like a team that deserved to be that far in the knock-out stage was after Rooney (The saviour?) was sent off. In the qualifiers they were largely shit, they blagged it against Equador - they just weren't that great. I know that goes against the grain and I should support them or whatever, but no.Anyway, seeing as I'm Welsh, does that mean I'm allowed to shit-talk England like the England fans shit-talk Portugal?
