anzo
Howdy,I bought one of those dodgy shaped rotors as I bent my last one. Fitted ok and all that jazz but my front brake is AWFUL, as is expected with the bedding in process. So, It worked well for about 10 minutes before going shite again, so I did the slam all on and water them thing, which helped slightly and made them squeeze louder than my maggy. I did that a few times and then see how it rode.It was still crap after about 4 hours of riding, the point where It just wouldn't stop me at all. I left it as that and haven't touched it again since. Is there anything I can do to 'speed up' the bedding process? Surely it shouldn't take this long and have no difference.I thought about getting some really fine sandpaper and taking it to the disc, but I'm not sure about that?Any suggestions? Lee Cable
Im pretty sure that you have to do it multiple times, put water on it, fly down a hill with it on a little. This leaves some of the pad on the rotor and makes it brake better. I read that on here somewhere!
downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
Disks work better on a smooth serface. You pads might be glazed over with ALU from the disk... Take the pads out, and see if they are shiny, if so, sidepaper then intill they are not.they put them get in, and make sure the rotor is very central, then ride along with brake on really fast, and do lots of stoppies, then pour COLD water on it, it will/should sizzle, cause its so hot! and do that about 5 times, should work then
CurtisRider
You pads might be glazed over with ALU from the disk...discs are steelanyway he is right, glazing may be your foe, giv them a clean and give the disc and pads to bed into each other, putting some muddy shizzle onto the rotor seems to speed up the process, but i found the water trick and just using the brake until it beds in is the best way, could take a few weeks to reach full power though(well thats what i found with my gothic)
PaRtZ
I just went down a big hill in the rain with my brake slightly on. Next thing I knew I had a brake which could make me do front flips if i wasnt careful
