Wright Pads
ADSL2 24MB downstream and 1MB upstream, in particular with ADSL2 it will be possible to bond lines to produce a true 30 or 40Mbps downstream!!!It's £24 PCM so it's £1 per MBIt's coming out very soon, next month it's out in a few places in London for some software testers. Routers/modems for it can be bought right nowProblem is the exchnages are having one hell of a huge upgrade but it is very much needed. Lee Cable
Right, first off, I know pete does come out with some shit sometimes, so do we all. But even when he posts something that helps some people, you all slate him. This is quite a interest to me, as it will be to those that to crazy amounts of uploading/downloading. I know this is a trials forum, but as these guys cant post in the chit chat section, and they want to tell us something good, so they post it here. secondaly aimed at pete here, Cant wait for this to get to me, mummy will have something else to pay for. Simon
Check it out for your selfIt's faster than NTL/tellywest and Bt or Bulldog etc etc. It's also more cost effective. Oh and i know many Tf users bit torrent and this rocks for that and pear to pear ie: limewireEr, clue = you don't have.ADSL doesn't rock for peer to peer. The whole point of p2p is that you share. Sharing with a 1mb upload is wank. You want SDSL, which you can only do if you rent a line, or live anywhere else in the world.A friend was on 10mb SDSL (thats 10mb download and 10mb upload) 2 years ago in sweden. They've also released 1gbit home use lines in sweden, which aren't much more expensive then our top of the range packages here in the UK.NTL have been testing 24mbit since fall 2005, and be-online have been selling it for a month or two.Our lines are actually capable of a lot more, but if they released 40mbit internet, how would they grow? They wouldn't have anything to expand and sell up to, making the customer think there ISP is at the forefront of technology and upgrading their services. Wright Pads
I know the Sweeds have had 1GB for ages, i also know it's not that costly. You can also get it here in the uk but here it costs a small fortune.Thing is dude this was about the uk not the eu etc etc. The french have many option as when they did there telic com upgrade years ago they fitted both IDSN and ADSL as a std...bloody frogsSo not really owend or told. Most here are on ADSL, this new servioce allowws them to keep what they got just upgrade modem/routreADSL2 will rock for P2P mate thnak you very much, not ADSL. Not just you, most of the people who have posted here. If you don't like the topic, don't bother posting. Just go read something else. JT!
What is the maximum speeds in KB/sec you can get down your telephone line, up and down.
Wright Pads
Currently?? It's very varied due to a few thingsYour locationThe exchnage @ Bt or whoeverThe service providerType of cable used (BT doesn't have a set std currently)The upgrade Bt are carrying out8MB is the current UK fastes home network on sale. You need to be a very good SOHO to get faster if you can or cheaper. The up and down is set by the ISP, too much will kill and slow the system down along with too much coming down wil lstop it for others. How ever fast you get the pack you'll be limited by your exchnage and BT sadly are shit at there exchnage. cable, wi-fi or Eura sat are the top dogs with Eura sta now testing 3GB 1.5 up and down switiching
