They should be able to sidehop properly well. Probably more "to front" more than "to 2 (or 4 in this case)", but even so, big springy legs = big springy power, just ask Benito. Benito even looks like a horse/camel.

bit late, but yea they can sidehop pretty well i saw this camel sidehop 45 inch once

(note: im not linking grosenik to a camel, just couldnt find any other high sidehop)

Am I the only person who's found that a bit of a wierd statement?! haha

you've obviously never owned a rabbit...

My neighbours cat can get up to their porch roof (must be at least 9ft) by utilising a sort of walltap off a gatepost on the other side of their path.

He can get it from static but has to scrabble at the top. When he hits it at speed he goes sailing up - its a sight to behold it is.

Yea, cats may show off n' all that, but I've seen one mess up, it slipped on a windowledge and fell off the roof...didn't even have a helmet on.

Oh, and my doggy (Staffordshire Bull Terrior) once climbed onto my bed, out my bedroom window and fell like 15ft....not a scratch on him. He just walked into the house like nothing had happened and then went to get one of his toy things.

A dog jumped off the sea wall at moonrocks, is about 25ft+ to the floor, and its a concrete ledge before you reach the sand!

That just got up an walked away.

Seen a staff fall about 15ft onto its head an just walk away, crazy bastards!

Gerbils are where is at for getting up stuff.

A cat stands like 3/4 of a foot tall and can do 8 feet, thats 10.7 times its body height.

A gerbil is roughly 3" tall and one of mine managed to jump onto my tv landing on its back feet, which stands at 35" high (its on a small tv table thing) which is a whopping 11.7 times its body height.

So in a land of camels hooking walls and dogs doing 25' drops a human sized gerbil would be able to jump an amazing 819 feet up something. :o

Whered'you get that from :S 6 foot x 11.7 is 70.2 Lol

6'=72"..... 72"/3"=24 so the gerbil is going to be 24 times bigger than normal if its 6 foot tall.

times the height a gerbil can jump normally by 24 and you get..... 72 feet.... hmm, guess i must have made some balls up somewhere... in my first go i got 9000 somthing inches,

:$ I only got an E in A-Level maths

  • 2 weeks later...

We've had a bit of a re-think on today's ride... The topic of space badgers came about, and we wondered if a space badger could out-hook a land camel?

The sort of space badger we're talking about can be seen below - complete with helmet and protective gloves to help get some grip on the edge of walls.

What's the verdict then? :P

a crab would definatly be the highest sidehopper as they naturally go that way! but this could be classed as a forward hop, help. my crab wants to win but hes confused and rides sideways.

He also proves the long thought theory that zoo bars give u wings!

I think Adam missed a vital point....

....being a space badger, it's actually on the moon, doing hooks on the moon, so has much less gravity. It'd be a tight call, the lack of gravity could compensate for the small size and power of the badger, but would it be enough to get its hooks up to camel ability?

for a start, if the camel were also on the moon then we'd be back to square one.

and..

there's no such thing as a space badger anyway so it's a load of bum.
