to be honest my mate has a zetec s, which has been pimped out an done up quiet nicely etc but i think for a car its dog wank, i could think of alot better cars for the money you pay for a zetec s, saying that am sitting here saying this an i have a citroen C2 VTS sat outside

People complain about XE'd corsas saying 'shoulda put it in a better car' but thats the point. you stick a good engine in a shit car and just drive round embarrasing people.

sleepers are brilliant, jsut the look they leave on the face of drivers with nice big "quick" cars. my sleep i want is either a redtop in a mini van, small inconspicuous and stupidly quick or a milder more dirvable but still reasonably quick 1.6 k series in a mini. especialyl as the gevernment is changing the law when it comes to engine swaps in cars, summat about only engines from the same manufacturer as the original????

Its just in my opinion, its all being done for the wrong reasons. You do a van up and stick a big engine in it to race unsuspecting people in their VTSs etc who are always up for a race, cos thats why you buy a VTS. Wrong imo. Cos its faster it dont make it better imo, but in your opinions i think it does? to be honest the elemenet of surprise is wasted on me. Id rather have a GOOD car than a van with a big engine. You cant keep saying "thats the point though, people dont expect it" I simply dont get it. I wouldnt poure that much money into a van just so OTHER people "wont expect it" ???? This isnt making much sense I dont think, what im saying??

Rather a c2 than a shitty saxo they look dog wank imo, also i know buck i dont do non of the work on my own car i let pete or my dad do it there really good with cars pete owns his own company mechanics shit and my dad did so its all gravy.

it is rather nippy an i tossed of a few saxo VTS so far cant handle the cornering speed baby, sometimes it feels like its goner roll though

Nobody's said it's better. Id rather have a faster car than a better car, as thats where the fun of driving lies.

And hes not exactly 'poured money' into it. The total cost of buckys van is probably a lot less than most people on heres cars when you weigh things up.

God were going round in f**king circles. I like cars, fast ones that handle well. That makes a good car imo. The way they look fits around that and 9/10 times looks great. In terms of driving, being able to throw bikes in the back means f**k all. Being "different" means f**k all. Im sure e46 m3 drivers (seems to be the most common fast car these days) (not footballers wives) dont all go "wow this car is amazing, but I best get something else that people dont know is fast" Its bollocks. If you like cars, and you like driving, therefore you like drivers cars.

Those who have done conversions like this, I can respect your opinion and I have intrest from a engineering point of view. But not in a driver point of view

The way I see it:

My friend had a Starlet GT Turbo, tuned to around 200bhp - don't ask how - I don't know.

This car had great suspension, lowered for racing blah blah... it had electric windows, air con, nice comfy seats... Was generally what most would consider "a good car".

My friend then went on to sell this and buy a Polo GT Mk3 - Wind up windows, no air con, crap seats, biscuit wheels, almost raised suspension, no back seats...

If he put an Audi 1.8T engine in (seen it before) then I would rather own that than the Starlet. It'd be faster, it would have the old skool appeal... So, he paid £325 for it, allow say 2k for mods. £2,325. Compared to the starlet - £4000 standard, 1.5k on mods... £5500.

I'd rather have the Polo.

It's like anything - Why mod an 80's Mini around £5k when you could buy a second hand VTS and go faster? Because VTS's are common as muck shite that every other boy racer has, Mini's have great appeal to a lot of people. A fast mini gets more respect from me than a French tin on wheels.

mate took me out today after work in his redtop corsa, and f**k me, i almost shat.

dual carrageway, doin about 90, speed camera, straight down to 30, then some lad in a vts is next him, looks at us and puts his foot down thinking its still the standard 1.1

Silly buggers, ended up doing 130 before having to pull in to drop me off at halfords haha! Most fun in a car ive had in ages, just pulls like f**k, really kicks in in 3rd gear and keeps on going...

i want to go out in waynes van now haha!

I have also heard that this mad craze is effecting all of britain ben slinger was going to buy a focus rs but seeing as vans now out handle cars and out accelerate subaru's so he has now decided on the new transit connect but he mite wait for the wrc version coming out this year.

i have also heard that all of the touring venues have been moved from the race tracks to local super market car park so far the favourite are mainly morrison's and asda because hey have the best grade of tarmac and have ace donuts available from the pastry counter lol

Just reading the first few lines of that an i know that is one mental (an professionally done) car!

Triple 8 are the company who prepare the Vauxhall Astras for the BTCC. They know exactly what they are doing. An I bet that car is mega money as well. If you wanted that done to your Astra-van then expect your pockets to be lightened by several grand (probly 15-20k)
