Snapped Tensile Crank

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have never snapped a set of cranks but i have snapped a spoke or 2 and a brake cable.#

And about that video :- get it hosted and post it up it's always good getting comments on your bailing style and just a laugh really.

P.S Unlucky for falling off. I know you probably didn't find it funny.

I did, and they sorted me out with some :)

Just give 'em a call, tell them what happened. They're usually pretty sound about it (Y) You'll probably get a half-price replacement, so don't go into it expecting a free set or whatever...

My friend broke a set of monty cranks. He broke the left side first and the the right in a 3 week interval. Both of the snaps look him to hospital for stitches!! Wasn't too nice. He's ok though, didn't get it on film. Most of the time cranks snap from either wear and tear or a manufactuing fault. If you can spot a smooth air bubble looking shape on the snapped area then this would have been and error in manufacturing. If its a Hair line crack then your unlucky as this can't be put down to manufacturing faults :(

Hope this helps
