I enjoy and play both.

5-a-side and Rugby both at college and rugby for my local club.

Rugby is a darn sight better in my eyes though, more action constant tackles, breakthroughs, interceptions etc.

BATH RFU *** :ermm:

I've always prefered rugby, never played seriously or anything but it's always been a laugh when we do it at school, could someone explain union and league rugby please :)

They're both better than footy, but league is better :)

leauge doesnt have rucks you get effectivly 6 downs and then a turn over ball

(or other way round)

using the backs a lot more and the forwards just have to play balls to backs not crash in or ruck throo not as much mauling - more kicking on last down to snatch a try

Not necessarily, the attacking team can force a repeat 'set' by for exaple kicking the ball into the in-goal area area and then tackling them.

Basically what 'Pissin_on_the_fence' said.

Union: Rucks, mauling etc

League:Basically have uncontested scrums ,

That's been changing slightly now, the refs are being more lenient over srums and there are more and more contested scrums. They'll never be as good as the union ones though where its just bodies everywhere :)

To be fair, thats a f**king shit reason to prefer football to rugby, not born to kick a ball

Your not born to pick up a rugby ball are you?

'rugby is pants because you was born to pick up thigs with your hand' well even before your born your kicking inside of your mum, tool.

Not saying that rugby is definatly better then football, but your reasoning sucked ass.

I prefer football and more specificaly playing rather than watching.

Also practising keepie up and tricks like flicking the ball onto the back of your neck is un matched in enjoyment compared to anything skillful in rugby (line-out, ball kicking between the posts - boring stuff).

But you dont do any of that stuff in a football match? its just what showoffs do when outside im not saying its not fun though as thats what i do when out with mates and im bored, all that stuff youve said you have to do in a rugby match as its part of the game, such as crossing a ball, passing etc is boring in football, to me to you to me to you :turned:

I guess the keepie up stuff, although not directly used in a game, is very beneficial to improve your ball skill for games.

When not playing a proper match, there's so much fun to be had playing the skills related games like "Cooler" as we called it, or was it "Volleys" where it revolves around scoring goals from multiple keepie-ups.

I agree that watching all the passing stuff in football is boring, but actually running around the pitch and being involved in creating the passing opportunities is great.
