theone2be
I wasn't sure on this bike so is this the one your'e on about? If so than i know of a friend who has this bike and he rides preety well on it, but i would upgrade to HS-33's and some good pads. These are ok bikes for beginners but if you want to improve try going for a second hand T-bird or even better a T-pro on here, when you get validated. T-pros are great begginner to intermediate bikes that last a while. And because this is a saracen please dont do big drops on it as if your not smooth these do have a tendensy (sp?) to crack and / or snap.In conclusion these are good bikes for begginners but you will find it is holding you back after a while as you improve. BIG L
Personly i think it is pants. For one it is well to light and two the stem is like a tree stump the stem is huge and i don't like the ride att all.Cheers BIGL
adamtrials
They really arent that good at all imo, its not got a 19" rear wheel,it looks really, really short, and its a weird mixture of bmx, 26" and 20" components. As much as i hate to say this you'd be better off getting a t-bird *shivers *
RichardS
I guess it depends how good/advanced you are and what you're budget's like.I bought a second hand one off eBay for my 9 year old lad.It is absolutely perfect and does the job as good as anything else on earth.Yeah it was cheap.Yeah it does have magura HS11s which help.Yeah it doesn't have a 19" rear wheel ... so what! The wheel' round, has grip and you can get a selection of new tyres for it.Yeah it might bend if you leap off a 10 foot drop, but will you?If you're after entry level then GO FOR IT
adamtrials
Yeah it doesn't have a 19" rear wheel ... so what! The wheel' round, has grip and you can get a selection of new tyres for it.The point is that the components are not really standard mod components, so it will be a right pain toupgrade, especially when you can get much better bikes for the same money secondhand. Its like £200 or something new? For that money you can get an awsome spec t-pro, which really are very good bikes and ride much better. I think you made the right choice buying one for your 9 year old son as they are small bikes and he should find it about the right size, but for the average 15/16 year old starter i think there are better options for the same money. Mark W
I had a play on one. It felt OK on the back wheel largely 'cos it's so short it'd be hard not to. However, when you try and kick to gap or do anything, it's just like there's nothing there. It's so short and small that you just can't preload or anything on it.The lack of a FFW and therefore the lack of a decent gear ratio isn't great, the lack of a 19" back wheel and 2.5" (or wider now, go Monty ) tyre mean there's less stability, and the fairly high bar/stem combo doesn't really lend itself well to it. The brakes aren't all that either. All in all, there's not much good about it at all... I guess it depends how good/advanced you are and what you're budget's like.I bought a second hand one off eBay for my 9 year old lad.It is absolutely perfect and does the job as good as anything else on earth.Yeah it was cheap.Yeah it does have magura HS11s which help.Yeah it doesn't have a 19" rear wheel ... so what! As it is, to upgrade it to be better for riding trials on as your son advances, you'll have to buy a new back wheel and a new frame together. Having to spend that much money and more in one go is just a bit of hassle, bearing in mind the poor geometry's going to hinder his riding anyway? Good work for getting him into it though. For the real, real basics it should be OK, but just watch that it's not too restricting as he starts to improve.
JT!
Out of all the beginer bikes i've seen, nothing compares to the onza's. There 3 to choose from, Vee, Bird and Pro. Look at your budget, look at the bike, and buy it. This only applys if your buying new though.
