yeah, you get a code from volvo dealer, whack it in the volvo website and start recieving clues etc. bet they will be hard, but winner who figures out where it is gets a volvo. ill like to try it but im too lazy. i bet with 3/4 people each with knowlegde of lots of stuff could do it okay, the split the cash by selling it.

It would be pretty funny if someone found it, some how got it out, and put the empty container back... or even better... moved it so when the volvo people go to dig it up, they are like, "damn, where did we put it again?"

Although it would be pretty much impossible to do. But the thought is funny... (Or is it just me).

To find the car, treasure hunters will have to solve a series of clues and puzzles which will be emailed on a regular basis. Those who solve the puzzles correctly will continue to get clues, which apparently will become progessively harder. Even if participants join late they can catch up with the rest.

The final clue will be emailed on July 12 and then Volvo will pick seven finalists from around the world to solve the last puzzle. In early August they will be flown to the car burial location when each finalist will compete to find the car. The first one to unearth the XC90 gets to keep it.

I can see tomorrows headlines now:

"Today volvo have denied any provokation of millions of vandals accross the carribean by saying that they have buried a car. An interview with the chief of volvo UK says 'This is stupid, why the hell would we bury a car for a laugh?' It turns out the advert was run by a dummy site uploaded to volvo.com by internet hackers"

I heard a rumour its in the cemetery in Whitby...you know, the one at the top of the deadly stairs.

I wonderd why the roads were closed.

Be f**king rad to blow it up or something. Lay a minefield there or just get the instructions for a home-made bomb. Easier than digging, and far funnier when Volvo get pissed that you just blew up their promo car?

I could swear the XC90 has been around for a while now, unless they've just released an updated one.

Plus if you're going to buy a big ass car, make it a VW Tourino or a Range Rover.

And the best place to start digging would probably be in or around the Volvo assembly factory. Think about it, they have private land with no witnesses (apart from the workers, which I'm guessing are excluded from the comp).

That's my 2 Cents

There was an advert on TV for it. they showed them burying the car.

Plus I doubt they will actually expect you to go out there yourself and dig up the car. If its run through puzzles where you have to crack codes, first person to crack the last one would be conntacted ect.

I think thats how its gonna be done.
