Wobbly Freewheel

right ok over the last 6 months ive had a really basic wheelset, on my bike just a set of what i think are deores on d521 and in the last week ive noticed some play in it. now ive tightened the cones and checked all the bearings and races and theyre fine, so im thinkin the play must be in the freewheel body itself. are these replaceable or am i better off buyin a new hub/wheel? if so whats the best value for money hub/rear wheel to fit a stock, oh and i dont want a hugely wide rim, because its got to fit in a saracen mad

and not it hasnt cracked yet

cheers for you help

basically, the shimano freehubs are of such a bad quality they always wobble, even from new. just run it untill it dies. after that i would reccomend a hope pro2T, they're a good price(£130) and verry reliable. as for a rim, a dx32 is about as good as it gets, 38mm wide and strong as you like. lots of people have run them in mad frames.

the hub is available from tartybikes and the rim is available branded as a BMF from chain reactions.

only because it was what came standard on the bike!! couldnt be arsed to buy new wheels until they broke!! havent really known anything better, well apart from my atomlabs on my jump bike and the bulbs i had on my dh bike, but not quite the same as trials. is a hope pro2 really worth it or would i be ok with a mono/xc?

cheers

Last time I looked tarty had the DX32's in (Y)

As for a hub, hav you thought of a DMR revolver and an ENO/ACS/Tensile (where the rear version is released) I'm running one thats about a year and a half old now? And its still awsome. really good for the money, effectivley, £40 for a 36EP strong as hell hub. Good value IMO.

could go single speed as i only really ever use one gear. run 22-15 at the mo. hmmm could be a plan, would stop me having to worry about broken mech hangers all the time. i'm running a smooth rim at the mo with heatsink blues which seems ok, how well does a dx32 hold grind? think i'll get tarty to do it if i get a wheel from them.

cheers for your help
