Heres my 2cent as im a bad mood.

i HATE waiting about to recieve something, especially if ive payed alot of money for whatever item.

Now dont be a dick, and dont come up with bullshit excuses.....youve been down.....family problems, so what...whats 20 minutes in the day to sort out , going to the post office or whatever. Seriosly what a load of bullshit.

Just get his bike sent, dont worry about the postage, so what you might loose a few quid. If your worried about loosing a abit of money, wait till you grow up sunshine. Just take it like a kick in the nuts and send the bike.

THE END (Y)

Couldn't agree more. It takes ten minutes to box up a bike and call a courier.

If you agree to a deal, you have it ready to go when you receive money - simple as.

The only excuse really is ifyou have a bad accident... not because you're down.

Sorry mate, I was too depressed to ring Parcelforce....

Progress!

Nicky's agreed to give me £40 towards some cranks and I said i'll pay the difference (they're £55) which I think is fair enough.

Nicky's said he's going to try to get me the money by the end of next week (Fridayish i guess) and he's already got half of it, so i'll update on here...

Hi,

May i first introduce myself. I am Nickys step dad. Johnny.

After reading the comments concerning the bike nicky sold to mike i would like to point out details that Mike has forgot to mention.

I stripped both pedals off the bike for packaging reasons myself and the threads were in perfect condition. Mike would have had to fit them upon arrival to ride the bike in the first place.

So when fitting them he must have put the pedal on incorrect to cause it to cross thread them himself. Also the fact that he took 2days after the delivery to mention this, he also had been out riding the bike draws concern to me.

I also would like to add that the delay in the postage was due to the cheque that mike sent was in Nickys name but Nicky does not have a bank account, and Mike was fully aware of this. therefore the cheque was returned and the payment was payed through paypal into his mothers account. As soon as the payment was payed the postal delivery was arranged and the bike was sent the following day and Mike received the tracking number.

The delay of the delivery was obviously not Nickys it was parcelforce as the postage service paid was 48hr delivery, which took over a week.

I would like to add that Mike knows our landline phone number and doesn't seem to have the bottle to ring Nicky about his concerns. Nicky has been totally unaware Mike had a problem with the bike until Nicky read the threads, which i think is totally unfair to Nicky. Mike has made assumptions and accused Nicky without giving Nicky a chance to even explain or defend himself.

When Nicky was trying to phone mike about the payments, after reading a thread Mike had wrote accusing Nicky of ripping him, a wrong mobile number was given and Mike delayed getting back to Nicky for a day with the correct number. I suggest before writing his threads he should do his homework, at least check his bank account.

Mike is quick to broadcast his complaints to everyone all but the one he should be complaining to. Why? i ask myself , maybe because its is conscience knowing that probably he cross threaded them himself.

I am not defending Nicky, he his a 13year old lad and can defend himself therefore i personally do not gain anything but i can assure you that that bike was in good working order has i was the last to see it leave. It seems to me Mike is after making a quick buck but not at my expense has Mike got a bargain in the first place.

Also i don't take too kindly to Mike threatening a thirteen year old with court action. As kris said he should of checked the bike to see if it was in all working order.

cheers

Johnny

After reading the comments concerning the bike nicky sold to mike i would like to point out details that Mike has forgot to mention.

I stripped both pedals off the bike for packaging reasons myself.

So this is why one of the pedals (which happened to be the one that wasn't damaged) was still attached to the crank when i took it out of the box?

Mike would have had to fit them upon arrival to ride the bike in the first place.

So when fitting them he must have put the pedal on incorrect to cause it to cross thread them himself. Also the fact that he took 2days after the delivery to mention this, he also had been out riding the bike draws concern to me.

The first time I rode the bike i noticed the right foot felt kind of weird, which I did in fact mention to Nicky and he told me the axle of the pedal was dodgy (which he didn't tell me before selling me the bike). Being the trusting guy I am, I took his word for it until I noticed the gap between the pedal and the crank. Do you really think one day of riding can cause this much damage? (picture)

[attachmentid=6105]

The far side of the crank where thread can still be seen is the part where the plug goes to stop crap getting in from the other side.

At the near part where the pedal screws in, rust can quite clearly be seen, which I can tell you now doesn't happen from one day of riding after 'putting the pedal on incorrectly' even though it was stored in a dry shed when not being ridden. Also notice the fact that there is quite simply.... no thread left. There was also alot of rusted metal paste (mixture of metal shards and grease) inside that area, which is the remnants of where the pedal was cross-threaded and has been rusted over some time.

the cheque that mike sent was in Nickys name but Nicky does not have a bank account, and Mike was fully aware of this.

Well that's a load of bullshit because I didn't actually get this information until I rang Nicky's mum a week after the cheque arrived. Nicky kept stalling and giving me excuses about why the bike hadn't been sent, all of which were far from what was actually happening with my money/the bike.

therefore the cheque was returned and the payment was payed through paypal into his mothers account.

The cheque was put back in the box along with the bike, not returned seperately.

The delay of the delivery was obviously not Nickys it was parcelforce as the postage service paid was 48hr delivery, which took over a week.

That's absolutely fair enough, I have at no point tried to pin the blame on Nicky for the postal delay.

I would like to add that Mike knows our landline phone number and doesn't seem to have the bottle to ring Nicky about his concerns.

This is because I was lenient enough to take Nicky's word for what was going on.

Nicky has been totally unaware Mike had a problem with the bike until Nicky read the threads, which i think is totally unfair to Nicky.

This is because Nicky has been at school, and i've waited until he's got back to either ring him or forward him to posts i've made on here, to save myself typing everything up twice. Further explanations to my point were given to Nicky when he asked any questions...

Mike has made assumptions and accused Nicky without giving Nicky a chance to even explain or defend himself.

Absolute bollocks. I've been more patient than I should've been.

When Nicky was trying to phone mike about the payments, after reading a thread Mike had wrote accusing Nicky of ripping him, a wrong mobile number was given and Mike delayed getting back to Nicky for a day with the correct number.

Yeah, it's called a 'typographical error.' I didn't 'delay' getting back to him, I just wasn't aware that i had made a typing mistake and didn't know this until a day afterwards.

I suggest before writing his threads he should do his homework, at least check his bank account.

I thought that Nicky was trustworthy and honest, so I looked up everything I needed. There was never a problem with my bank account in the first place...

It seems to me Mike is after making a quick buck but not at my expense has Mike got a bargain in the first place.

Well I spent £120 on a bike (then a further £80 to get it working properly) so I was never out to make any money :S

Also i don't take too kindly to Mike threatening a thirteen year old with court action.

Well that's fair enough, but it's the only way I can see getting anything done when all Nicky can do for me is lie and conveniently miss important things out.

Edited because the quote marks dont' seem to work.

in all fairness i think spikenipple is in the right, i dont think anyone would quibble over a few quid like that unless there was a problem.

either nicky has been telling porkies to hid dad or he's just trying to stick up for him with false information

If spikenipple was informed of the dodgy threads before cash was exchanged then it would be his fault as he chose to ride the bike like it, However, He was only informed after cash was exchanged therefore putting nicky in the wrong, and in all fairness should pay up the £40 as agreed.

Well nicky's been agreeing to give me the money for 2 weeks now, but to no surprise everytime i've asked for an update, nothing's been done...

This probably means that a whole lot has been going on that i've not been told about. I guess i'll give his mum a ring sometime soon.
