sammmy
I'm sure you guys all have the same problem, but i just cant get over the rate in which my hands seems to blister. I used to ride everyday a few years back and had nice juicy callouse's on my fingers and plams which acted as a kind of shield to blisters. But it seems after taking a break, and now starting to ride alot again my hands are blistering horribly and its getting to the point where im having to let them heal over before i ride. Its going through about 4layers of skin and leaving a right old mess inside me gloves .... any remedies or tricks of the trade to try and prevent it? or do i just have to endure the pain? Mark W
Just gotta deal with it. If you can find any anywhere, Anaflex sorts the skin out pretty well. Not taking off the dead layer of skin seems to work pretty well for me. I've got epidermolysis bullosa simplex, so I'm used to getting blisters really easily Maybe try getting a more ventilated set of gloves? When you sweat, your skin becomes more flaccid and tears more easily, so perhaps maybe even going glove-less might help?

MikeCottTrials
the only real way is to let your hands develop calasts, and dont pick at them or anything once they start to appear. this way youll build up massive lumps of dead skin which protects your hands, my only problem is they get on my nerves so i clip em off with the nail clippers
sammmy
thinks that probably the problem... i keep ripping off the flap which kinda exposes it and makes the really raw stuff rub which isnt plesant

willdasexybeast
youll have to get used to it mate. i ride everyday and have done for ages and still get blisters. normally i ride untill ma hands are bleeding and by christ does it hurt but it depends how much yopu ride and how much fun your having. maybe invest in a more comfy set of gloves. are u using xc gloves because they work the best? and also try getting a slighty softer set of grips that are more compfy.will

threesixty
get some better gloves as other people have said is a good option, i've found riding gloveless is good for abit but then end up getting sweaty palms, which mean loosing grip. not good when on a large drop off!! after a while you will find your calluses will completely ware over with a constant layer of thicker skin. only remedy i have found is ride more!! justfuzzit
You could also try putting (I think its called mole skin) in your gloves so its smooth. Also dont peel the skin off, but jut poke a hole in it. Just enough to drain it. Hope that helps!
boris_on_trials
I had the same problem but i just got some nice cushty 661 gloves and they worked a treat. Mine where really bad and because i play guitar they hurt like hell i couldn't even pick my guitar up by the neck or slide down it. It wrecked. By the way NEVER pop them the liquid in them is what makes them get better. It protects the hand as the new skin is made its also an anistetic so they don't hurt as much. PaRtZ
I've never had blisters (wooot!) I have massive callouses though which admittedly + shamefully are fun to bite off every so often :$Anyway I suggest just ride more and more to GRADUALLY build those callouses back up
