ive just tightened it up till i doesnt tighten any more, just wondering if i should really give it some or leave it at that

There should be a leaflet with the bb torque rating on it, if not do a google search for the brand and torque rating.

I'd say give it some, but not extension bar stylee. Mine's not even all the way in....due to some....problems....but its still good, not budged one bit

ye just tighten it as much as u can dont be using big bars or awt as much as u can do it wi a normal spanner will do

only the right hand side should be very tight. the left hand side without the shoulder shouldnt be as tight as it only provides stability hence they are often plastic.

make sure your bb tool is sitting in the bb correctly, if it is slipping you can get a wheel skewer and put that through the axle to hold it in.

Until you get to the last bit where you need to giver it a bit of welly to make sure she stays tight.

As for torque ratings and all that, not everyone has a torque wrench so that's not much use!!

I generally tend to find that BB tools and the bit they sit in on the BB itself are proper wank so you can't over tighten it anyway!! Just keep going till you take the skin off your knuckles.. Sorted!
