abe
hiIt is 34 mm OD and is 3mm thick this may be diffrent becaue mine took an oval shape when it snapped. Abe Edited June 17, 2006 by abe
Mark W
35mm outer diameter, 1mm wall thickness.
Luke Rainbird
34 mm OD and is 3mm35mm outer diameter, 1mmButted tubing maybe? 1mm seems rather thin to have full-length. I could be wrong, just would imagine it would be a little more solid at the weld areas
Mark W
I believe it's not butted tubing? The downtubes aren't much thicker. I think XTP downtubes are only like 1.2mm or something ridiculous like that. Presumably why you can crush them with your hands?Either way, frame tubing always seems to be thin.No doubt it'll turn out it is butted though and it's like a 17.5mm wall thickness at the end From what I could tell, there wasn't any change nearer the seat-tube/head-tube though. The seat-tube, incidentally, is thicker than you'd have expected it to be...EDIT: To put it into perspective too, the T-Bone "Strong" mod frame had a 2mm thick straight-gauge downtube, and that was considered over-built, so I'm guessing a 1mm thick top-tube made of U6 alu would be about right...? Luke Rainbird
Ah fair play, I always imagined they'd be somewhere nearer to 1.6-2.0mm or so myself, but just goes to show what I know doesn't it! Why do you need to know Pete? Is this a new project for you whilst the leg is screwed?!
