One welcome to the forum its a good place to be. (Y) .Two is your village rely called Good Easter, Thats an awsome name for a village sort of like Merry Christmas. You wouldn't forget it. Three (I have not figured out most of the forum yet but I will try my best to do what I need to do to be a good member) All the info you may need is at the top of the main new members chat page it will help you get validated faster.

:angry::angry: Why do new members insist on posting threads saying "Hello Im New", it pisses me off

grrrrrrrrr

Why do you post useless replies like this? Stop posting shit in NMC. There's more than enough in there without you making things worse.

Welcome to the forum Damien

:o Theres no need for that and if you haven't noticed most of the members have been validated straight after putting up a topic like this and putting up a good first post.

It amazes me how many of these topics are actually posted though, every time I come on here there is a new one and they just seem useless.

It anoys me when there are so many of them, I think there should be a thread especially for new members to learn how to post and introduce themselves like what I suggested before.

These type of threads make the forum fill up with the same type of stuff and it just gets really repetive and dull.

It's been tried; and ignored, and new attempts will be useless unless a sticky is made, which would be pointless because there would be just too many stickys like in my opinion i think there are now.

NMC is NMC, let them introduce themselves and be done with it (Y)

Or why not just make this thread an intro thread? Surely that would save "so many other pointless threads" being started.

So here goes:

Hello all, my name is Darren, I live on the Isle of Wight, and ive just started riding trials. I have a t-rex self build at the moment, but im hoping to upgrade to an adamant a2 shortly (well, as soon as i can save up enough!).

I've been on here since april (not validated yet though *cough cough*) and im looking forward to being 'let loose' into the main forums :P .

Just wondering if there are many other riders that live on the Island? I already know a couple of members that are on here, just interested if there are many more?

Cheers

But new members wont use it after a while. There'll be about 10 posts and then It'll disappear from the first page where it won't be used again because half the people won't see it.

Even stickying it wont do any good. There's a bike pics sticky but you still see topics posted up showing bikes.

Don't read it then. You don't even have to enter NMC. Although, I agree that some topics are too over-posted but how are new members supposed to introduce them selves so that people get to know them/where they're from/what bike they ride.

A lot of new members on here have been validated within 2 posts or so, and most of them have posted threads about them being new.

The sticky idea has been tested and it didn't work as everyone just posted new threads anyway.

Ah well, I don't see anything wrong about threads liek these....

Welcome to the forum. :)

Well said (Y)

There is nothing wrong with people introducing themselves, especially when it is polite and grammatically good i.e not text talk. Anyway welcome to the forum Damian, stick to the guidelines and don't post nonsense and you should have access to the rest of the forum quickly :)

But new members wont use it after a while.

Considering two new members already have, there's no harm in trying to keep it going in my opinion.

Plus, i think that most new members feel they have nothing to say in reply to most of the threads, meaning they do not get validated. However, if they're anything like me, it is much easier to start/reply to a thread simply telling others about themselves/their bike/how long they have been riding etc.

I love the way us un validated people just put up with it. But tHE ACTUAL MEMBERS THAT DONT HAVE TO BE HERE BECAUSE THERE PART OF THE FORUM are ones complaining. You spend all that time getting validated just to come and spend your time with the new members i know you give us advice and stuff thanx for that. But when a topic like this comes up you dont have to read it let alone complain about it

I never said that it should be closed, and i agree with the 2nd bit. I was just making the point that no specialised/set topic should be made because eventually nobody would stick to it.

Congrats. on the validation anyways (Y)
