Ali C
kinda sounds like the piston is bottoming out in the lever before the brake has time to contact fully.I reccomed a new bleed but remember to unwind the tpa all the way out. JonCongreve
If the lever's quite spongey there might be air in the system, caused from a bad bleed, and just making the brake not work well, and in your case, have no hold.Check for leaks in the system, if it's all ok, give it a fresh new bleed and it all should be fine I've never had this problem, so if bleeding it doesn't work then i'm not sure
bhups
kinda sounds like the piston is bottoming out in the lever before the brake has time to contact fully.I reccomed a new bleed but remember to unwind the tpa all the way out.Yep thats it (i think) the piston might be hitting the end of the cylinder before there is enough pressure forcing the pads to lock on the rim. When you pull the lever in does it lock out (Stops and doesn't move any closer) and the pads aren't holding on to the rim enough? If it is that try;.A new bleed.Moving the slaves in closer Edited June 14, 2006 by bhups
N.Wood
Take the wheel out of the bike and pull the lever. If the brake lever bottoms out at a fairly reasonable point (i.e. where it would if you had brake pads in) then you'll need to do what Ali C said. If the lever goes all the way to the bar without bottoming out, something else is wrong.
