matt!
no mate, best of with chain tugs, you will nedd to drill holes in your frame and helicoil them, put bolt through, in order for the snail cams to work, if you do not do this thesnail cams will have nuffin to push against for chain tension and it will be a waste of time! hope i can help, matt! Danny Kearns
I suppose you could drill your frame and just put some 4mm bolts in and run them then, i e-mailed tarty about it and they said it will not weakin your frame in anyway. the judge
Daniel your a star now...could you tell me if they said that they could do it for you?I doubt it as it would void the warrenty and if anything did go wrong with the frame it could be them who get held responsible and mithered by whoever's frame it was. So I can't see them doing anything like this really.
Danny Swindlehurst
wellllll.... i wouldent recomend the snail cams unless you need them,i would just stick to chain tugs for zona i.e you will have to drill some holes to tap out to insert the bolt for snail cams cheers danny
smelly joe
I thought that the drop outs on the zip's would be way to big and that snail cam's could not pull the chain the whole way back??
trial-biker-ryan
What is snail cam's? i have not a clue any help please??
PaRtZ
Bascially they're like circles with a hole for the axle drilled off-centre and with notches all the way round. As you turn the cam, they pull the wheel back as they work against a bolt which is in the dropout (or a lug if you're posh enough to have a monty frame )You have 0 chance of getting tarty doing it for you as said above it will void the warranty. to be honest you're better off using chain tugs and i can tell you they work well
blinky
best off with normal chain tugs, with snail cams you cant use the whole length of the dropout. plus with normal tugs you can have more adjustment.
matt!
snail cams are a light chain tensioner made by monty, bascically to save weight.
