monty221pr
i bought a full 221pro earlier this year and after sitting down next to the bike whilst at a local riding spot i noticed a discreet line running under the bottom of the down tube were it meets the head tube,as the frame is SAF(shock absorbing frame) is this just flex which has cracked the paint or is the frame just a steaming pile of s**t ,as their are numerous lines around the bike which appear to be cracks. So is this unusual in a short period of time such as this or does it happen a lot as more manufactures are desinging frame with many sections CNCed for strength. trialsinchris
i wouldnt have thought that front wheel moves like that would crack your frame that quick, especially if you have just started learning them but as you said it might not actually be a crack, have you got any pics?chris
Greetings
is this just flex which has cracked the paint or is the frame just a steaming pile of s**t ,as their are numerous lines around the bike which appear to be cracks. Use a sharp knife to get rid of the paint around the crack and see if it's only the paint or the tubing under it. Could be both. Had lots of cracks on the paint of my old monty, when I removed the paint where necessary, it turned out that only a few places were cracked. Hobnobs
Monty's are flexy, so as you said, they could just be cracks in the paint. Still, i rode a cracked, well two, echo frames for around 6 months each, and could have been longer if it hadn't just got to a stage where the flex was silly. blinky
My mates had a cracked seat-tube for about a year, i think its a planet-x jackflash, no flex at all either.
