JonCongreve
Not really, go for with ever size bike you feel most comfortable riding on.You do get some tall people riding 20", and some small people riding 26". It's just about what feels most comfortable
fordy
my cousin has a 20 and that feels ok..but i have never tried a 26...fordy.
bikerider
I'm pretty tall at 6 foot and I find mods to be quite uncomfortable as I'm always crouched overI've never tried any of these long mods though (GU etc) so I don't know about those... Ben Savage is about my height I think and he rides mod. Without trying to tell you which is best, I'd probably say a mod would be better for you at 5'5, but as has already been said 'It's down to personal preference'
chris mac
not true, i ride a mod and im 6 ft 4. stocks fell reely hard to get on the back wheel. but which ever mod or stock suits you.
coolbeen
Hello there if you are thinking of getting one of the two mod or stock then try and have a go on both of them and see what one you like the most to ride and like. Also height don't matter as i am about 6'2 to 2'3 and i ride both stock and mod and like riding both. But my mod has a long wheelbase something like 1045 it is a zona zip. I think you would like to ride mod more becasue small people mostly like to ride mods but i know someone who is about your height and he rides stock. So have a go on both and see what you like. lankyri
in some ways height dosent matter on which type of bike you ride, i know BMXer's that are over 6ft and can still ride and CLS is also over 6ft and he rides mod but than again it depends on the frame, i have a friend who rides a toxsin mod and i cant ride it at all because im 6.5ft but than again he cant ride my t-rex but i would go to mod as i have heard it is easier to progress on mod than ride a couple of stock bikes see if you can ride them well and then maybe upgrade to a stockhope this helps ric
ashby-trials
i ride both so am good on both basically
Gilman
I have a friend that is 5' 4", and he rides a stock. He rides a echo pure with a wheelbase that is 1085. He has no problem throwing that bike around. So like everyone else has said, try one of each and get the one you like the best. Although mod is much easier to learn on, if you are just getting into the sport.
