Tom_
having read alot of posts all posts about 20" OR 26" always seem to end up with mod bikes are so much better than stock. There have to be advantages to riding a stock bike. I was just wandering what they are?cheers
yoyoyo
26" bikes are generally good for rolling stuff. They are more orientated towards street style riding. Can tap higher on stockBike looks more normal Real men ride stock. etc...
Davetrails
getting around has become a big factor in my riding, bigger wheels = easier to ride distance on.and then there is hub choice, mod riders have king bmx, profile or fixed. there is a whole world of hubs for 26" spacing. Gilman
For me it's easy to describe in two words, More challenging.Stock is much harder to flick or throw around, or bunnyhop, where mod is easier to learn on, and yes it's easier to throw rround. If you want more of a challenge, then I would say go with a stock . Though stock is much easier to get up on things that are higher. You also feel like your on a mountain bike and not a bmx bike. Another advantage I have found here in the states is, that the police don't harass you when your riding a bike that looks like a mountain bike; Unlike a mod that looks like a bmx, they think that you are destroying things.Matt. BIG L
Ive got to say for me mate its mod but there is different advantages for the bike your used to put a mod rider on a 26" bike and they will probably be pants well i was anyway but put a 26" rider on a mod they will probably still be good becaues mods are lighter and easier to menouver.Hope ive helped youCheers from BIG L
unicycle boy
I've tried both and I have to say the only advantage ive found of stock was that it was much easier to ride around on. Although I wasnt strong enough to do anything on the stock when I tried it, but it looked like it could be almost as fun.
