Davetrails
you need to be more specific, cranks come in all manner of lengths and variety's.first you need to think of the pro's and con's of each. for exampleISIS give a stiffer feel however the bearings die in bottom brackets quickly. also taking into account the price tag of such an upgrade.and square taper may be cheaper but they round off easily. which i suppose is relative to their price.then you need to tell us what bike they are for, a mod or a stock? so people have some idea of what you need, as most people with a mod run FFW and the opposite for a stock.you really cannot just say 'what cranks' and expect a decent answer. Dan6061
If its a mod buy some tensile caranks as thay can take a goog batering and still not break!!! had them on my old bike!!!!! A few have snapped though. Don't let this hink 'ahhh they're shit!' 'cos they're not. If they seem a bit pricey, I'd recommend the '05 Echo Forged cranks. I use them myself, and have had no problems. I run Sq Taper too.

Davetrails
you can however most people find them too long, and you will need to run a rear cassette hub or freewheel.
Jaffacakes
Get some monty cranks. There around £70 and mine are holding out well.
