Trials Park.!

Recommended Posts

Right was thinking the other day.

Do you not think that if tarty, selectbikes, zoo, echo etc all put some money together including us lot then we would all together be able to have a trials park made for us.?

We have applied for one around are area to ur local council but they said no because of insurence policys and stuff, labour charges etc etc.

I was thinking of having it based around nottingham or somewhere around that.

I was thinking possibaly inside a sports hall or something like that. So for example we were to rent the hall out each month.

Then we were to get some pallets, skips, railings, roadside rails, cotton reels etc etc. Then build one inside the hall.

Would you say this is possiable, because i was just very curious.?

Lets see your thoughts.

Cheeers !

thats bloody miles away I, it needs to be in dorset, you cant just have one trials playground, you got to have more than one in various areas of the country

It's a good idea, but it will never work.

tarty, select.etc are all companys they are out to make some profit or they would never bother with running a company which was making losses. if they were "Funding" this park they would have to pay insurance which is really very expensive they would no doubt be making losses on there products or we would be paying even more for parts of are already expensive bikes.

if you want to get a trials park you have to ask around alot, find a local land owner or farmer and ask if he has a spare peice of land anywhere that you could use to hold trials. he may say no straight off or he may use this chance to show how much he cares for the community which will be his ticket to selling/developing the land in the future. In our case the land owner FM developements paid for all the insurance and legal documents. but as far as i'm aware these were very expensive and even as a group it would have taken months to raise the money.

i don't think it'll work from scratch either. what i think might work though would be if you went to an existing skatepark and asked them if you could add a trials part to it if they had the space? that way the original owers of the skatepark would know how to deal with insurance etc and you wouldn't have to worry about siting the park...

duno just an idea. trials park would be loverly though

You can't just expect the council just go and give you some land and/or build a trials park becuase some kid asks them.

I personaly see no real need for trialsparks, there's pleanty of other stuff to ride. I know sometimes there's bother with police, but i live in a smallish town and there's loads to ride.

With the renting the hall part, if you rented it out each month, what if some other tight ass crack wanted to use it aswell? how would you get around that? also, what if you damaged the hall floor? anyways, nice idea but i suggest if its gonna happen you think it through first mate. (Y)

we had our events inside. They didn't seem to mind the odd 1 or 2 tyre marks left on the floor (and the walls *ahem stedman* )

Its quite cool but only recommended during winter months and even then don't expect it to be chilly. The reason we stopped indoor events was

a) the hall became privatly owned and was no longer council property

B) therefore was too expensive as well as INSURANCE!!

don't forget all events need insurance and the costs are a bit steep.....

Hope this helps, but for more info, talk to barbara wright (Y)

A bit of a random idea - it's three o'clock in the morning, so I doubt one of my best; there should be a travelling trials park..kind of similar to the circus, but with less gypsies..& no goldfish

either everyone brings a bit/object on the day (similar to a barbeque - but with pallets etc) where only the best bits actually get used, or there could be a trials tour van/truck travelling around with bits & pieces that get set up on site - which could be anywhere you please...still rolling with the gypsy theme here guys..people pay a deposit online etc. if they don't show on the day etc - yada - yada

this was definately a useless solution, but fun non the less..
