RandomHero
In my GCSE science exam today there was a question i really didnt get.It stated that Fluorine reacted with Xenon. I was sure Xenon was a group 8 (0) atom and did not react due to its full outer shell but according to them it does. Can anyone explain this? ramps
I just drew out the structure of it (circle we xes all over it) and worked it out from there. How did you find it? I though it were quite easy.
Dr. Nick Riviera
yeah xenon is an inert gashowever fluorine is sodding reactive. and will react with pretty much anything and it combines with the noble gasses science club ***
ARSE!
Flurine is the only halogen which will react with a noble gas. Xe(s) + 2F2(g) → XeF4(s)EDIT: beaten to it ^^^^ Edited June 7, 2006 by Sir-GU-Murphy
