CBProductions
Is this any different from the one in the news section ? I dont see the difference maybe im missing something.
Walleee
That case is fantastic looking, and if they go for the price in the news thread (around £49.99) they are most definately worth the money. I think the black colour might look well too, and for those who run stinky chain's the dirt won't show up as bad........

Andy P
In my opinion, there is no such thing as too many engagements so long as its reliable. I used to run a Stealth hub from true precision which used a rollerbearing clutch (or one way bearing) and had instant engagement - I kid you not, not even a fraction of 'backlash'. I was expecting a little movement to be honest but there was absoluletly nil - and 100% silent. It wasn't spongy as some people suggested it would be, completely solid with no flex.Every one that rode it was very impressed, Chai, Staples, Simon and some of the worthing crew had a go and were rather astonished by the instant pickup.Shame it died after a month. Sent it back for them to experiment with stronger internals and spoke with them a few times to hear of good progress. I'm still waiting for it now after a year and a half lol.... I might give them a ring and see how its going! If anyone manages to make a instant / near instant engaging hub with proven reliability I'd definaltly be interested. I loved it.Andy P

I loved it.Andy PI've ridden a clutch bearing hub and it was alright. This one was quite spongie, but wasn't bad. The main problem with the desgin is it exerts alot of outward forse, and with the likes of trials it exserts alot more than normal, and it can destory it's self. What essentially happend is the needle bearings rolled over their 'retaining lobes' (not what they're called but easiest to understand). Once this happened once the lobes were irrepairably damaged (flattened) and was unable to withstand much torque. poo.Andy P

The main problem with the desgin is it exerts alot of outward forse, and with the likes of trials it exserts alot more than normal, and it can destory it's self. There is a way to make it live longer by pressing some steel ring onto the driveshell but it has to be very tight to work properly.
JT!
Why? Sealed bearings, lockring's is in a more accessable place. Edited June 8, 2006 by JT!
