Greetings
I'm ordering a custom frame fairly soon, and would like to hear your comments about it's geometry. Basically, this bike is going to be built up for UCI riding. No bashplate, just a 16T bashring. Wheelbase: 1015mm Chainstays: 363mm (but I'm thinking about 375 due to the bb rise, however I hated the Python for the long CS) BB rise: 70-80mm, but probably 75mm Head tube angle: 72-74 edit:The remaining setup: 375mm forks, a high rise stem and narrow 680mm Monty bars. And before you ask, I do like high BB's.Cheers Edited June 5, 2006 by Inur
TheMunn
My thoughts would be how it would ride being that short and having such a high bb, also this would depend on what bar/stem you were going to use. This geo maybe similar to the ride that the vinco does but alot shorter I presume. Build it and tell us! hehe
Davetrials
itll be wank mate the bb rise is too much for he lenth of the frame to have bb rise that much and to allow the bike to ride decent id say u need a minimum of 1075
joshywa
i'd have it more like :Wheelbase: 1020mmChainstays: 365mmBB rise: +70Head tube angle: 72 degree'sbut thats my idea of a perfect frame and depending on what fork you use +80bb rise could be more like +60 when you've built it up. Also dont use a high rise stem, i find it feel's like you loose power when you hop joshywa

Will Arnold
where people watch him ride but seriously, how do you know u like high bb's ? specially 70 is a bit high?

Walleee
Assuming it's for a mod, mod's have a BB rise anyway, as in, very few have a 0 bb rise/drop.With that in mind, I don't think 70 is that much really, i think my monty's about 40/50......Anyway, you not liking your Ti inur? You know where to ask if you want rid
Greetings
Sorry for the mix up folks, thought the geometry was somewhat self explanatory and didn't write that it's meant for a mod bike. Wheelbase: 1020mm Chainstays: 365mm BB rise: +70 Head tube angle: 72 degree's joshywa Sounds good, need to think this over. In what way do you find you loose power when hopping on a high rise stem? It's great for gaps because you can get the front wheel lower without being in an awkward position, taps are easier too. They have their downsides of course. but seriously, how do you know u like high bb's ? specially 70 is a bit high? I'm trying to to "tweak" the GU Typhoon geometry which I absolutely loved. Had that bike for a while and then swapped with Gaz because I wanted an even shorter frame. However taking into account that this would be an experiment and I'd keep the current frame, I might as well go a bit extreme. If something goes wrong, I'm sure there'll be somebody out there wanting to buy a short titanium "Monsterboy".The GU had a 1010 wheelbase, 60mm bb rise, that's why I want to give it a higher bb rise (which I loved about that bike) and make it slightly longer for it not to feel silly - hence the +5mm wheelbase. beat me too it, inur if you had that geo itd just feel like the toxsin mod Hope it doesn't dude That frame is total shit. Do you find the GU short though? Assuming it's for a mod, mod's have a BB rise anyway, as in, very few have a 0 bb rise/drop. With that in mind, I don't think 70 is that much really, i think my monty's about 40/50...... Anyway, you not liking your Ti inur? You know where to ask if you want rid Don't think so either, +60 was great, I don't think an extra +15 will spoil the way it rides especially that I now have about +35 and it's also fine. IMO bb rise is something which doesn't significantly change the behaviour of the bike, it just helps in certain moves or completely spoils taps Loving the Ti, not selling it Edited June 8, 2006 by Inur
Gaz M
nah i dont find the gu short its perfect frame for me, i can tell the difference in taps though but nothing else. make a long bike 1065 ish, low bb 50 ish. it will be a mod tapping machine lol
