ned1 Posted June 4, 2006 Report Share Posted June 4, 2006 i have had an idea...like a profile pro2s amd kings etc have the pawls and whatever else in the hub.my idea is could you not take aoart a pro2 or king hub a simply cut down the axle?obviously precisly and on a lathe or cnc machine.but is it possible? Bigman Posted June 4, 2006 Report Share Posted June 4, 2006 noActualy Ash it is possible, and has been done..........I seem to remember Edd Potts cutting down and machining a hope Xc to fit mod wheel spacing, but then again he does have all the skills and neccasary tools to do such a job (lucky bugger).in the real world i supose Ash is right, but there is realy no point, as a profile mini cassette hub is one of the most reliable mod hub ever, you can get a King BMX hub which will fit a mod but these are expensive, but now there are alot more reliable screw on freewheels, such as the ENO trials and Tensile freewheel Adam Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My reasoning for that is:1: Alot cheaper.2: Nicer sound to them.They may have less engagement points than a chris king but i can not tell one bit of difference to be honest.
