Bike addict
Hi guys. I'm probably going to get a video camera soon and was wondering about a few things. First thing is, what megapixel should i get? I know that i have to get a "dv out" type camera but is there anything else i need to consider? like the picture quality and stuff, is there anything that i need to know about that?cheers, Ryan P.S- if you have got a video camera, could you please tell me what type you use like tape or digital or what ever
Technical Tom
Get a Sony MiniDV camera, can't go wrong with them, Also buy a firewire cable too to transfere your video. You don't need megapixels in the video camera as it records straight onto tape, but if your wishing to take photos with it then yes get a quite high megapixel one. The quality of the video once transfered is very good but you would need to compress it down as the file size will be huge.Anymore questions just ask Tom. Bike addict
Thanks for the reply mate. im a bit tight on budget so i think that the sony is slightly out of the question but thanks anyway. How do you get a video from tape onto your computer??? (if you can)
Technical Tom
You simply plug in your firewire cable (you have to have a firewire port on your computer first) in both the camera and the computer, then transfere you video using some editing software, i use 'Ulead VideoStudio 9' and you simply play the video on the camera and it will appear on the screen and then you just press record on the computer screen. It's really simple but it's quite hard to explain.Tom.
