Brian Bleech
The last couple of months or so my knees have been hurting when riding and they feel quite stiff. I don't feel as 'bouncy' or 'loose' as I used too, if you know what I mean! I am getting old ...haha But seriously I taking my more effort to do things (especially gaps, sidehops stuff, all static moves really) as it feels harder to compress. They have always hurt to a degree, but normally just the day after a long ride and when climbing stairs and they have been fine later in the day or the day after.I am booking a docs appointment in the next week or so and have start taking cod liver oil (for the past few weeks). just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or has any advice, maybe some specific stretches would help out!Any advice would be great.TaMike

ScotchDave
Glucosamine sulphate is useful for joint problems, also stretching before you ride is very good for you.
HargrovesToby
heya mateif you are having joint problems, take it from me, get it sorted out as soon as possible.i am out of riding at the moment, i dislocated my knee after experiencing some pain whilst riding which infact was a ligament going laxed (i have strong legs aswell) but it dowsnt matter how strong your legs are as i found out.go and see a physiotherapist as it could be a sinple stretched ligament or get a bit more serious like a tear in the cartilidge, i remember my doctor saying that knees do two things, stop us from falling over and hurt, wish you all the luck mate because i know what its like but ill be out again in a month!!toby
Mark W
I had the same thing, and mine are nice and crunchy too. Cod liver oil didn't really benefit my knees (but did benefit other stuff), but glucosamine sulphate did. Glucosamine chondroitin's pretty rinky dink too.Let me know what the doc says though
Gavyn.
i have osgoodslatters in my knees it could be that. it sort of makes your knees stiff all the time even after streching and it pulls the bonne out from just below your knee so have a look under your knee for any big lumps
mike
try and get your mits on a set of those steel replacement ones, i hear they're really smooth, just like warm up and strech well before and whilst riding, (not literlly when your riding, but like when your watching someone else, or having a break) seems to work for my shoulders and wrists

Waynio
also mike, you need a "Sports" physio not a "walking physio" lol a good sports phsio will sort you out in no time, a physio from a hospital will NOT be good enough. trust me. iv heard poor remarks from people who have been to hospital physios etc etc.Waynio..................
