I think it's a bit immature that someone who is 19 years old can't keep a lid on his language. There are bound to be younger people who browse this forum, who are now going to go out and repeat that coarse language somewhere. Not funny or clever in the slightest.

So what if people tell new members to write properly, if their too stupid to read the guidelines then it might need pointing out to them. You also mention about how the forum should be an enjoyable place, well i personally find it more enjoyable to read a post with correct spelling and grammar... i get wound up by txt tlk.

With this in mind why shouldn't people mention it? Admittedly some people don't go about it in the best way but thats life, and your just gonna have to live with it. People are from different backgrounds and will have different views on whats acceptable and what isn't, you obviously seem to be a very sincere person, and whilst thats not a bad thing it obviously means you get offended when other people say things that they feel are completely okay to say. I am a much more relaxed person and never really get wound up by things that i see on here, and as such i don't seem to take much offense from anything people say i just go about as i usually would and yes, if its someone using txt tlk i won't hesitate to tell them to stop it. It annoys me a bit, just like the way you reply so much in your threads... you quote pretty much everyone in the thread and i just don't see why you feel you need to bother. I haven't made a thread up about it though have i?

At the end of the day its hard enough to change people in real life so your never going to do it over the internet.

People have already said this but don't take a forum post to heart. You're acting like a "bad" post is the end of the world.

You have got to realise that swearing is common place in language in a lot of areas. For example, in an average conversation I have with a local almost every other word is a curse word. In other places I can have a conversation with no curse words at all. There's no post on here that's more grotesque than anything I've heard spouted in the street.

I haven't been here long but I've made a few posts people haven't liked much. I apologised for offending people at the time. I've explained any humour. Yet I've still had people jumping on the bandwagon and throwing in their two cents. I must say that it's very off-putting when you get one person attack you for posting something they don't agree with. Then to have their cronies roll on in... it's a bit childish really.

I mean, I can see where a lot of them are coming from. But if someone has explained why they're upset with a post why do 20 other members have to post the same shit in different wording?

As I said, a bad post doesn't represent Armageddon. So why an army of self-righteous teens need to stroke their ego's by ridiculing new members is beyond me. I guess you could say I'm balancing it out - they attack newbies for things they don't like, so I attack that "in-crowd" for doing things I don't like, therefore I shall be attacked by other established members for attacking their friends and so on and so forth. It's a vicious cycle.

This whole scenario is like global conflict: Some people will never like it. But you will never get rid of it.

well the DJ memorial ride prooved something to me

There are some very genuine guys on here.

Speaking to some guys and theywere pretty much how I pictured them to be from their posts.

Then there are those on here who treaten things on here, say when we meet Ill beat you ect.

But as soon as they are on a ride, they are quiet, stay away from the main "action"

they are just tossers who think tey are hard men behind the keyboard.

I alos hate those people who go to rides, on the latest, most tricked out expencive bikes, then sit there and do nothing, or cant.

Why spend £2000 on a bike not to ride it. Have you people not heard of starting on something shit becasue you will break it.

Ha ha, too true. My bike is literally falling to pieces now and i'm sticking with it for a while, and yet i've met people with brand new echo's who can barely ride them.

Yeh, I agree with Joe. I had a decent spec Monty 221Ti which I spent a lot on but that was because I had nothing to spend my money on, I went to big group rides but didn't really ride as I didn't like riding infront of people (Silly, I know.)

Does it really matter to you that much though, it's their money let them spend it how they like.

I'm 16, and I have a rather kitted out Zip.

But i'd admit to not being good.

All of the stuff on my bike is what I've payed for, and most of it, i've had a reason for buying.

Because i broke me old stuff.

A few bits on it are from when my old stuff was holding me back when learning.

I don't see a problem with people that aren't as good as the UK's best riders, still have the bikes for it.

If they're going to stick with it, then that's fine by me.

They can always sell it at the end of the day.

A good bike will sell quicker than a shit one.

i do feel kinda embarrassed when i go on group rides sometimes...my bike is pretty frenched, and looks pretty funking stupid....but i do bash it about so there's not much point me doing anything about it..

and i do feel kinda jealous about alot of other people's bikes ...but then i remind myself what they'll look like in a few months time

No i don't mean people like you... i've only been riding like 6 months longer than you. I Mean the kind of people that start out on a really good bike after having only ridden for a few weeks/months. I think it irritates me how they've gone out and spent so much money on a bike without knowing what they're riding style is yet and things like that. On holiday i saw some riders and there was one there with a gorgeous leeson and he couldn't even peddle hop He told me that he'd had it bought for him by his parents and that he just thought he'd try trials and when i asked him why he bought a leeson he had the legendary reply of "well i don't know really, i might change it soon" Its that kind of attitude that annoys me because he's had it handed to him on a silver platter because he asked for it and has made no attempt to even try riding how it should be ridden.

I personally think if you've saved up and bought the bike yourself it pretty much voids any negative opinion of you i might initially have. It shows that you've worked for it and taken time to get the bike you want, not just any old bike because you can.

And no it isn't that i'm jealous, just annoyed at how ignorantly stupid those people have been.

There are some kids around, who quite honestly, ask for something, and it's on a plate. My parents are good to me in the sense that they do spoil me, but they don't draw money out for bike parts, I pay for my bikes myself, hence my shitty specs I've always had
