Mike Beck
hey all, as i have a planet x tibo frame sitting in my garage being unused i decided to start building it up with the spare parts from a scott YZ1. As i currently ride a mod i dont know anything about what mech to use for my project. Will any mech do or will i have to get a special one????? any help is much appreciated cheers lewis
Sharp
Any rear mech will be fine really but most trials riders use short cage derallieurs such as shimano sora, sun race etc. This is because the smaller the rear mech is the harder it is to knock it off!Cheers
baladi
if you ride left foot in front you should try to get a tiny chain tensioner. the slimer the tensioner, the less risk to brake your hanger while failing side hop
planet x alan
another option is to just use a chain tensioner, like the dmr tension seeker and run single speed, you can squeeze fatter chains through these

m60_maniac
i agree, i would get a tensioner. i just got my saracen single speed converted and got the dmr simple tension seeker. works a treat
Simpson
another option is to just use a chain tensioner, like the dmr tension seeker and run single speed, you can squeeze fatter chains through these use a pair of plyers and a few washers to spread out the jockey wheels so the chain can run though easierjust use the goddam mech use it an save you money if an when you break it you can look at gettin a tensioner
Ali C
as far as mechs go, I am very pleased with my sram x4 (or somthing like that) I have shortened the cage and its mint!! its mostly steel, so pretty strong, but not too heavy either
