Walleee
221pr with onza straight blade steel forks, wheelbase is 1020mm,Same bike, using monty curved-bladed forks, has a wheel base 50mm less.....Not that it matter's much, I was getting sick of not being able to bunny hop properly, and the monty forks look 10X better than the onza's.So is the choice of fork going to vary the wheelbase of a bike much? Those who say they have 1065 ashton's ans such, unless y'all are running the forks which the frame was designed with in mind, the wheelbase will be differant,...... but what's the range??? I thought at most, there would have been a differance of perhaps 30mm or so between those forks which give a long bike, and those which give a short bike...... Hobnobs
Whatever difference they may give, gives no difference in the feel of the bike, which is ultimately all that really matters.

Hobnobs
The length between cranks and handlebars is normally what effects how it would feel in terms of length, as that is how far you have to reach. The forks being that much shorter could be noticeable, but most likely only got things that are solely front wheel orientated, like gaps to front wheel. It would effectively be like changing the head tube angle, except not changing the bar position. Edited June 1, 2006 by Hobnobs
Greetings
The only thing a larger wheelbase will change (when lengthened by the fork) is the way the bike fits onto obstacles. The length between the bars and bb is still the same, which means your body position doesn't change. However a longer fork will lift the front up, and if the wheelbase remains the same, it will make the bike more bunnyhopapble and easier to tap, pedalkick etc. Basically it will feel as if you had a higher stem and an extra few millimeters of bb rise. I'm surprised the onza fork makes the bb so long... edit: hobnobs beat me to it oh my god I'm slow Edited June 1, 2006 by Inur
